This is my first journey on BHW. I decided to make this journey public to keep track of my success/failures.

    The domain

I bought a domain on December 15th. This time, I decided to go with a domain with a very STRONG backlink profile. I paid $700 (What a bargain). The stats:

The homepage has 82k links from 1087 RD. I can count at least 150 authority links from 46 authority website linking back to my homepage; DA 60+, non web 2.0. The domain name is also brandable.

    SEO

No SEO have been done so far. I'm letting the articles age a little bit before starting offsite SEO. I currently have 18 article published, averaging 3.5k words each.

    Current rankings:

I am only tracking the main keywords. Most of these keywords score on KR are over 35 (very competitive niche)

    Current revenue (December)

    January goals:

I would like to bring the total number of articles to 30. I might send a few social signal packages to my top ranking pages. I'm not interested in buying any SEO packages. I would like to know how far I can go without building any links.

How much I spent so far

    Domain: $700
    Content: $1300
    SEO: $0
    ----------------------
    Spent: $2000
    Revenue: $4.27
    Total: -1995.73

    Damn! Monster domain dude.

You keep your keywords around how much density % in your articles? Also what social signals sellers do you like?

    Thank you guys!

I never go over 0.3%. Otherwise, it looks spammy (at least to me). What I do is I will target "Cheap" "Best" "Reviews" "Good" and multiple other LSI. For example, if my keyword is Widget, my keyword density will look like:

    Best widget (0.3%)
    Cheap widget (0.3%)
    Good widget (0.2%)
    Widget reviews (0.2%)
    Widget for sale (0.2%)

I use ExpressFan's social signals packages. I like the fact that they stick and does not get removed.

Yea I saw ExpressFan's social signals packages before, I'm always unsure which one to go with, I have never seen impact by using social signals that's why I'm always reluctant in using them, never have them in any of my seo offsite strategies

    Thank you :)

I never experienced a boost using social signals either but Pinterest and G+ links are showing up in GWT, so I suppose it counts for something. Worst case scenario, it'll help me dilute my anchor text ratio.

I wrote the articles myself. On average, each article has 3500 words at a price of $2.1/100 words (that's my current rate).

I'm goign to give this a follow, looks interesting :)

Question though, could you technically use that as a write off for tax purposes? Even though it's done by you, it's still a business expense.

Looks good. If I'd start a new Amazon project, that's exactly how I'd do it. Cheers.

I do own a company. In theory, to be able to write off my own time for tax purpose, I would have to pay myself. I don't see the benefits of doing that. 1-1=0
