Hi, I have been doing SEO for a while now and earned a lot of money and experience (with CPA sites mostly). A while ago (1.5y) I decided to go for a white-hat route and start an Amazon Affiliate Site.

The site is doing good -- but, there's always room for improvements.

What's my goal?

Earn at least 3k$/month via Amazon Affiliates and Ads.

How am I going to do that?

  • Add 100 more posts -- I'm planning to add 100 more posts before the end of 2020. Most of them will be informational posts and 30% will be Top 5 product posts. I have already started this 2 weeks ago and I have added 15 posts for the last two weeks.
  • Add more backlinks -- I don't have a lot of backlinks. 4 guest posts maybe and some web 2.0. I plan to add more before 2020 ends.
  • Add Ads On My Site -- As you can see, there's no screenshot for ads earnings on my site, that's because I don't use ads (yet). I don't want to use Ezoic because of the speed issues, so I'm planning to reach 50k/visits per month and apply to MediaVine.
  • Add Comparison Posts -- Right now, I don't have any comparison posts or " Review" posts on my site ( such as Samsung laptop vs apple laptop, or Samsung laptop review). I will add some of these and see how they perform.
  • Update Old Posts -- Once I add the 100 posts I will go back to the old posts and see what can I improve to increase traffic.
Why Am I Doing This Journey?

I read a lot of journeys here, so why not add my own too. I learned a lot from journeys and got a lot of motivation. Plus, it will force me to work harder now because I have to reply to this journey.

What will happen if I don't archive my goals?

I plan to reach at least 2k$/month before the 2020 ends ( 3 months left). actually reached 2k month but then amazon cut its commissions so I have to do it again.

If I don't reach 2k$/month before 2020 ends, then I will probably sell the site in January. If I reach 2k/month then I will keep going until I reach 3-5k/month.

Wish me luck!

Good luck buddy
Can you please elaborate a little bit about cpa sites? How you doing?

Impressive! Good luck mick... Any tips on content writing for me? Would be much appreciated

Doing some good work.

Is there a reason you would sell the site if it doesn't hit 2k at the end of 2020?

Great result so far...
you gonna achieve $3k/m soon...
Good luck ;)
Thank you!!

I used to do CPA sites, now I don't. But that got me started with SEO.

Actually no. I suck at writing. English isn't my first language. But somehow, I managed to write 130+ posts by myself. The last 20 posts are outscored.

IDK. That's just a goal. I want to flip the site and then start some more with the knowledge I have now.

Amazed with this thread, im going to start my amazon too. i was lazy with making my own site and now I got motivated :D good luck bro and more USD come through your site ;)

Wow, impressive for a site with only 4 guest posts. Just a few questions if you don't mind:

How old is your site now?

How long did it take you to get the first 1k visitors? And how many posts did the site have at that time?

At what point did you begin linkbuilding? Do you think it's necessary given the success you've had without much of it?

What's your content strategy? How long are your posts? How often do you post? How is your keyword strategy?

After how many posts did you site start to take off?

I know they are a lot. So, please do feel free to answer them whenever time allows.

Definitely following this journey!

Strong work so far. Look forward to seeing if you reach your goal by the end of 2020. Based on the rest of the year I'm sure 2020 has some more curveballs to throw at us.

I'm adding more posts to the website -- haven't started the link building process yet. Hopefully, I will start in November.

Here's how my site is performing

Earnings(1-3 October):

Things have started slow for this month, I'm seeing fewer orders and I have no idea why -- I don't expect to hit 2k this month. But, I might get lucky on Prime day.

My site is 1.5 years old. I don't remember when I got my first 1k visitors. I haven't started link building yet, I just bought 2 guest posts from a seller here on BHW last month.

I go for low-competitions kw and long-tail keywords. I tend to avoid short and competitive keywords. My info posts are 1.5k words while buying guides are 3k words. I post when I have the articles ready. I don't really remember how many posts I had when the site took off.

Sorry for these answers, but I don't take notes -- that's one of the reasons why I'm doing this journey.

I'm seeing this too, while some niches saw an increase during lockdown I get the feeling people are now starting to be a bit more reserved with their money as they aren't sure what's going to happen.

Hi Eral
You are doing a great job. I am also going to start an Amazon affiliate blog. I want you to help me in generating money.

I have some basic knowledge of affiliate. In exchange, I can help you in your project.

Share your thoughts about it.
Thank you,
-Yaswanth

Sorry for the late update. I try to update as much as I can, but it's been a busy week for me.

Anyways here are the earnings for now: (1 October - 17 October).

1-17 october.jpg

And here's the post updates:

17 october post.jpg

According to my math, I have added 26 posts this month (until now) and most of them are info posts.

Today I will add:

1 Info post - 1500 Words
1 Buyers Guide - 2500 Words.
