    *** Overview ***
This thread is simply created to motivate others as well as keeping track of what I'm doing. However, it'll focus on investments and researches instead of doing actual work. If you're planning on doing business, you can't do everything by yourself, can you?

    *** Background ***
I'm a graduated Software Engineer and currently working as a Software Engineer. I don't want to sit in a cubicle and code 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. It sounds... miserable to me although I have to say I'm quite good at it and my boss likes me so much that he's helping me transitioning into an idea guy instead of simply a software engineer. For a normal person, this is heaven, and they will simply stay as they are and enjoy life. Who wouldn't want to be good at your job and your boss likes you? But I want more :)

In the past years, I've tried to get back into Internet Marketing and created a Journey thread here when I was still a student: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/journey-500-day-period.612084/. I won't make any excuses, so I'll simply say that I was lazy. Too lazy to move on (my apology to anyone who followed the thread and gave their encouragement to me :p).

However, I've learned a lesson. You don't try to bite off more than you can chew. That'll just drain your energy and eventually, you will give up, unless you have the will of a god (yeah, a bit exaggeration there). Therefore, this time, I'll start small and make it big.

Another lesson I learned over the years is that you can't build everything alone, especially when you don't have the expertise of the ones who did it for years. Why don't you find someone to help you with it, or train someone to offload your works?

So this time, I already have the capitals (salary from Software Engineer), I will invest into building a business instead of investing into stocks and coins like my friends are doing. I honestly think that investing in stocks is... gambling if you don't have enough connections, knowledge, and somewhat controls (which I don't have at the moment). Sorry stocks, but I'll look at you later as a friend, but now, stay away! :D

    Personal Goals for 2018
    1. Playing Guitar somewhat good, for fun.
    2. 6 Packs for a healthier life and... better life?
    3. $50,000/year for which this thread is. The main purpose of this goal is to make enough so that I can travel. There's some other reasons behind this, but it's too personal :p
    4. Make at least 100 connections with other people, so that I can do business easier when I have enough knowledge.
    5. Transition to Sales, Marketing, and Management to support goal #3, and #4. Also, when this is done well, I can apply for jobs in Sales & Marketing & Management with Software Engineering background.
    6. Pay off my student loans & my dad's car (yeah, he bought a new car, and I'm paying for it, hahaha).
    *** Plans ***
There's actually no concrete plan at the moment. So I'll make it up as I go. However, there's a roadmap that I can give out.
    1. Authority Amazon Affiliate Website - I want to do some SEOs and learn more about it. It's pretty interesting. So this one comes first and foremost. It also gives me stable income (somewhat) so that I can reinvest and make my capitals back. However, this one has to be done slow and steady, and right.
    2. CPA Website - I know... You're thinking: "Why not this one first?" The whole point is to create a stable income. This is just for fun and learning different perspective of SEOs. It will, of course, generate some cash, but not long-term cashflow and it's not authority enough in my opinion (because the website builder I talked to was doing Content Locking). If I find out more about this, I'll start sometime later.
    3. Youtube + Clickbank - I've done this before, it did great. But this is not what I really want in life, hahaha. So I left it for #3 to be juiced later.
    4. E-Commerce - This has to come, sooner or later if I want to make it big. Heck, I can even start a startup with it.
    5. Advertisements - Facebook Ads, Google Ads, etc... Whatever I can work on to boost up the E-Commerce. But this needs to be learned.
    6. Company - I do have ideas for starting a company, a software company (I gotta use my degree, don't I? Hahaha 4 years, it's not that short!). However, I don't have the time, the money, the knowledge, or the connections to start it. I don't have anything, literally. So it'll be the last thing I do while I'm working toward it.
These are just things that I want to learn and get into. It doesn't mean that it's limited to 1 of each. I might create multiple of each to get my hands dirty, hahha. Although I do want to learn literally everything, or at least to know every little tricks (good or bad), I don't want to get into bad tricks (although they make good money) too much because it's not stable. My goal is to build a stable income/cashflow instead of churn and burn.

However, most of the work will be outsourcing. I'm focusing onto researching and ordering services. I simply manage, I don't do stuffs that others can do better than I do. More importantly, I don't have the time (software engineer job is chewing me inside-out, haha).

    *** Niche ***
Nah, I don't want to get into too much details. I'm not much of an idea guy, but I'm working on it. So in the mean time, I'll just outsource keyword research and let the vendors do the niche selection too. I'm trusting vendors hahaha (more like I don't know shit :D). It doesn't mean it's not a good investment. I'm learning too, remember? :D

    *** Updates ***
Well... I don't think I can do updates frequently since I have a full-time job too. So whenever I can, I'll make an update with everything I've done along with incomes and investments (or lost bets, hahaha).

But believe me, I'll try to update daily or even whine here if I feel like it, hahaha.

    *** What have I done? ***
I've researched a bunch of Keyword Search, Website Building, and Backlink Building vendors. I've contacted a few website buildings and backlink buildings. Got their answers and I decided to go with the quickest reply of all (of course, decent quality as well).

So I bought a website building service for $157. I'm hearing back from him while writing this. So I'll talk to him after I finish this first post. As for the niche for this website, I'm still unsure. I'll let him decide, I guess.

I'm a decent web developer too. But spending time on developing a website along with writing articles (or buying articles), I don't think it's worth it for me to spend that much time. So why don't I just let someone who does it for years (or months) to do it for me? The cost would be probably the same (or not worth it for me to spend time on).

    Total income: $0
    Total investments: $157

Thanks a lot for your kind words. I'm going to make it worthwhile for you guys reading my long ass thread :D :D

What's moda? Hahaha. Here's a quick search on google: What's moda
Moda - n (MOH-duh), A word or statement that has no particular value to the person using it but can be twisted and manipulated by another to be used negatively against the original user.

    *** Update ***
So it's the end of the day, and I just got back from work. Hell, it was a busy day, but I found out something really interesting, hahaha. Anyway, that talk later, here's a little update about the journey.

So the website building service OP actually got back to me asking what niche or preferences that I have. I literally am clueless on what I'm trying to do, but I told him what I want for the site (scalability and easy to find products for him), so he said he's going to get back to me tomorrow. Let's wait on this. I'm sure after getting the niche, I'm going to play around with it while waiting for the site, hahaha. Brainstorming ways of attack!!!! I'm thinking of making Youtube videos or testimonials of some kinds. I've actually done some of these, they were great! Generated some profits from Clickbank. I would also proceed on buying articles to prepare for the site when it comes up. Basically, prepare for the site before it even gets delivered. It shortens the time :)

Anyway, so today, I found out that my boss is going to go to CES, one of the biggest conferences for technology. And I remember that I talked to my friend who's a CEO of two companies in Indonesia, he said he's going there too. So... I kinda begged my boss to let me come with, and that he and my friend should meet. I hooked him up with my friend out of my goodwill hahaha, so I'm letting him decide whether he would take me with him :D :D Generosity will give you something back, but you just don't know when, hahaha. I really love to go to a conference once, to know what's there. I heard my friend talked about it all the time about how amazing new techs are (some aren't so great) :D :D And I also learned something from the books that I'm reading, so... I wanna test out the theories :D :D

Anyway, enough of that. Today, I actually had a chance to message back-and-forth with another guy in this forum, I don't know whether he likes being mentioned here, but he's great. He took the time to message me and gave me lots of good advises and I really appreciated that. I wish anyone who had any advise would give me theirs :D :D I can learn a lot from everyone!

I really need to put my investments and income into a spreadsheet to track it easier. Definitely tonight.

    Total income: $0
    Total investment: $157

    *** Small Update ***
I can't sleep. This sucks... I guess I should do a small update so that I can sleep more tomorrow's morning before going to work.

I've finished the spreadsheet to manage my investment and income for Amazon Affiliate Website (in the process of building). It'll be easier to manage from now on.

I've had time to talk to one of the backlink provider, although his service is a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it after long research. The package provides lots of backlinks, but I can drip-feed it throughout 60 days or so. This prevents Google from seeing: "Oh, this guy suddenly has a burst in his backlink. What's going on? Let's penalty first, ask question later." The guy was really helpful and answered all my questions and doubts that I had with his service (and backlinks in general). I always love quick and helpful customer service (I repeat, this is how you get customers!!!!!). He went so far to even be honest with me about "don't order 2 packages for the same website, it doesn't make sense!" hahaha. Love the guy :p :p I will definitely order from him when my site's up.

I gotta find time reading up on Internal Linking for my upcoming site as well. It is really helpful for ranking what you want to rank (from what I heard, hahaha).

    Total income: $0
    Total investment: $157

This gave me a boost in confidence to start again. Been out of the IM game for 3 years now and I can feel how hard it is to rely only on day job income.

Keep us posted OP and thanks for the motivation.
