My last Journey that I posted here went very well. I met my $1,000 goal just 1 day earlier then the deadline of $1,000 in 7 days from free YouTube traffic. I have also realized that I could be giving away a little bit more information this time in the startup process. Now I have decided to post this thread just a couple days early to post my complete process in researching a niche on YouTube with a Fiverr gig to supply, Buying a domain name/creating a web site, and then marketing it on Youtube by posting comments and up-voting them to the top.

The same overall process will go on this Journey. But this time, more in detail on my setup before I get to the marketing. In a nutshell, this is the process I am using.

    1. Research a hot niche on YouTube for a service that I can resell.
    2. Find a couple Fiverr gigs to markup and resell
    3. Find a template and create a web site for the service that I am reselling
    4. Scrape high traffic videos with top comment section
    5. Post comment and up-vote all comments into the top position.

Starting point: Researching what service you are going to provide. I have searched out a few new services on Fiverr and went to Google.com/trends and searched it's keywords in Google Trends to see how popular that keyword is. Once I find a hot trending keyword from a Fiverr gig, I will go ahead and do some searching on YouTube.com for how many videos I find with it. What I look for in the videos...

    1. Amount of views ( I do not rely on this 100% because as we all know, we can purchase views whenever we want. So it's not accurate to base your research on just views).
    2. Check to see how many comments are being posted and how often they are posted apart from each others. (I like to target videos that have comments posted on it no longer then 2 days old.)
    3. How many videos I am finding on this niche. I like to target 50+ videos whenever I am sending comments into the top. If I can find a hot niche that has 200+ videos with top comment positions that meet all the requirements that I am looking for, then I know I have hit a hot niche to target.

What I have left to do today:

    1. Finalize on my niche to target based on my research that I am currently doing.
    2. Buy Domain name
    3. Find template

I will keep everyone informed with an update later today on my niche research. Please subscribe to thread as I give daily updates! sometimes a few times a day. If you have any questions, please post in the thread and I will try my best to answer your question.

Alright, so what I have done so far is went to Fiverr.com and looked through some gigs to see what popular gigs are on Fiverr. I went into the "Search Engine Optimization" niche on Fiverr and sorted the results by "Rating" (I only deal with Fiverr suppliers that have good ratings).

This is what I have found.

Do you see what I see? These are the top 3 results in the "SEO Keyword Optimization". All of them have one thing in common and that is Article Writing.

We see that we can get a 100 to 300 word article for just $5 from the first result and 400 - 500 word article on the second one (nearly double then the first).

Now what I am going to do is head over to my best friend, Google.com, and search for some competitor web sites in this niche and see what I find.

Over 7.9 MILLION results in Google for the search term "seo article writing service"

I clicked on the first 2 results that came up. The first one was un-related. It was for already written articles (at least what I briefly read about it). So I bounced out of that one and went to checkout the second one and found that it is related to what I am potentially thinking about starting.

Let's see how much they charge for article writing...

I see the starting price is $.05/word for the beginning level of Article writing. If you were to choose the provider on Fiverr that is highly rated at giving up to 500 words per article, then $.05 would be $25 ($20 profit). That's a decent mark up. So we now know that there is profit in this niche.

Let's go head over to our Google Trends tool now...

We can see that "article writing" is a hot search on Google and stays pretty steady on a slow growth. Let's go check out some keyword potentials in YouTube for this niche now... (I will post a another thread update for this one. Stay tuned)

Followed your first journey. I'll be glued to this one as well and pretty sure you'll hit your new target easily.

    A couple of questions:

Do you consider the video "likes/dislikes" ratio before picking a video? I'm wondering if a mostly disliked video may have a negative psychological impact on a the user and take him off of buyer mode; i.e: could be that everything related to the video loses credibility to the user, including the comments.

Do you consider video demographics? For example, there are English videos that might seem a good target according to your parameters, but when you check their demographic data, you'll see that USA is not the country with most viewers for it, and it's not too unusual to find videos in which USA is 3rd for the number of viewers, with the first two spots occupied by countries like Malaysia, India or Thailand, which of course have much lesser buying power associated to them. I'm wondering if specifically searching and picking videos in which most of the viewers reside in countries like US, UK and Australia is actually worth taking time for as the conversions would probably be higher.

    Thanks.

Doing YouTube research involves your creativity. You have to think what videos you can target that are related to the service you are offering, even if they are off from the main keyword.

I went over to YouTube.com and searched for the keyword "article writing" and found that it has 115,000 search results.

I looked at some of the videos that the first page displays and see that not many videos have a great amount of traffic.

Therefor, I am going to search for a related keyword "Search Engine Optimization" and see what results show. Since article writing falls under SEO, we can ensure that those needing article writing at viewing these videos as they are looking to boost their SEO on their web site!

Now look, 450,000 search results in Youtube. Now let's see what type of videos we can sort through on the first few pages.

I clicked on the first one "#1 SEO Tutorials for Beginners | What is SEO?"

Now this is where we are going to focus on. Lets look at how many views the video has, when it was uploaded, how many positive/negative ratings it has, and then look at the comment activity.

I see that this video was just recently uploaded on March 23, 2013 and has 40 positive ratings and only 1 negative. This is good because it tells us that the video was recently just uploaded 2 months ago and already is showing #1 in YouTube for the search term " search engine optimization" and already has over 5,846 views. This is not huge results but it could mean that the video may get more traffic to it with it's first ranking and being so new, it could be ready to start its peak of traffic.

But this information is just not good enough. What if this person buys their Youtube views and ratings? This is why we are now going to look into the comment activity and see what we see..

Now we see the last comment was posted 1 week ago. Not that great. We also see all these flagged for spam comments. This is what I have told everyone NOT to do. Look at those comments, they are all being too direct. You read it and you think spam. YouTube users do not like that, no wonder it got marked as spam!

MAKE YOUR COMMENTS SEEM LIKE A RESPONSE TO ANOTHER USER. IT HELPS WITH YOUR RESULTS!

After revealing this video, I can see that its not a great video to target at all. I want a video that has comment activity within the past 3 days and nothing more. I am going to go off this niche to show you an example of one with high traffic to the video...

This is one from a hip hop video. But this is one that you want to target. It does not have HUGE amount of traffic but also does not have too little. We see that comments are posted within hours apart from each other, which is better then ones posted seconds/minutes apart. Why? because it's too populated with traffic that users will be flagging / down-voting within seconds apart from each other. I like to stick to the less populated videos that also have traffic. I would target more videos like this so that I can see my top comments last weeks in the top.

Remember, I am on the hunt for a good niche that I can target 50+ videos with high traffic with my top comment. If I can find this with the SEO niche with related keyword to other videos in YouTube along with the main keywords, then I know I have a market for this "SEO Article Reseller" web site that I am looking at potentially creating.

I did this on a few other niches. Rinse and Repeat. I think I found a niche that I am going to be targeting that looks pretty promising. I will now buy a domain name and create a landing page for it tonight/tomorrow.

    I will keep everyone informed!

I have no clue how you find videos with active comments sections that are not filled with spam. Every video I see that has any amount of traffic if filled with obvious spam

Great posts! I am reading each post 3 times to make sure I follow, understand and try myself. I think I already have a topic that I can resell from fiverr, but now I know how to test! Thanks again for this and your last posts!

Fascinating studies, both of them... One thing I would interested in knowing from this is how many niches you are doing at the same time, or are you merely doing one niche/offer. while commenting on the 50+ top videos at the same time, (with different comments?) Keep it going : very inspiring!----One more thing, you mention service gigs; are you staying away from gigs where the customer will have a lot of input, creative issues, revisions etc?
