    Hello everyone,

This is a post I posted to my blog and thought it'll be really helpful to everyone here to share it as well.

I will update everything that I change on my original blog post here :) I'm not doing this in any other forum - just for bhw :batman:

    Here you go :

A very simple but great idea pumped in my head few days ago, and I wanted to build a website around it. But I knew I don't have the time for this because I decided to invest more time on WizIMS.
Anyway, after thinking about that, I decided:
To put some time and efforts in the site, but also to reveal to my blog visitors each and every step I'll take to convert this simple idea to a 10,000$+ worth website.

So in this post, I'll post any changes, ideas, conclusions or work I'll do on the website. I'll also reveal what I am planning to do with it, and how I'll monetize it. This should teach you guys how to pass through obstacles, how to take decisions and how to convert an idea to something worthy.
I'll probably have some competitors showing up even before my 2nd update to this post, but that's not an enough reason to stop me from making this great post. And anyway, a person that just copy other people's ideas isn't a smart competitor that I should be worried about [IMG] .

    The Website and the Idea
    [IMG]
    The website is - doIsay.com
The website idea is very simple — The user enters 2 words (or more) and the script tells which word (or phrase) is used more online.
For example, if you put "Coca Cola" and "Pepsi" you'll see that "Coca Cola" is used 69% of the times, while "Pepsi" 31%.
The website can be also useful to correct grammatical mistakes, for instance if you don't know whether you say "He was there" or "He were there", the website can give you the answer.

    The Website Name
    I chose this name (doIsay.com) because :
    1) The keyword "Do I say" gets 3,350,000 global searches each month (combined with other words), therefore, many of the pages that'll be generated in my website, can be ranked for long-term keywords.
This webpage for example, can be easily ranked for the keyword "Do I say hey or hi" (And longer keywords of course) because I have the exact keyword in my URL, and on the page itself, so with just little SEO I'll be able to rank this and other thousands pages very high in the SERPS.
Yes I know that's a long keyword with very low traffic. But ranking them should be very easy, so imagine each of my auto-generated pages getting just 1-2 UV a day each, I'll have 1000′s of pages, So do the math.
    2) This site name looks catchy and interesting.
    3) I wanted to make the website as simple (but powerful) as possible. So instead of explaining what's the website about in the homepage, I tried to include part of that in the domain.

    The plan in short
    [IMG]
As you see the website is still not monetized, and it won't be monetized before it starts to pull at least 2000 UV a day, and even then I might not monetize it because it was initially made to help my readers via a step-by-step journal, and not to earn from.
Also, monetizing the website in an early stage, will just scare away the visitors and that's not something that I want, especially when I'm planning to make it a 10k$ worth website.
Fact: A satisfied customer (visitor in this case), tells 5 people in average about his good experience. So if I run an ad-free website, I will improve the visitor experience and therefore I can expect to have a better word-of-mouth marketing, which is definitely the strongest type of marketing.
    The Marketing
I mentioned in the first paragraph that I will do some SEO to the website to get some steady traffic base. But my main marketing efforts for this website will be on the word-of-mouth marketing. (Improving the user experience)
The good thing about this website, is that it can be used by pretty much everyone from this planet. (A kid can use it for fun, a romantic guy can use this to compare his name to his gf, and the religion man can use this to find which religion is more popular..etc)
Therefore, almost any kind of traffic I get to this website can turn into a loyal traffic.
Another methods I'll consider to market this website are:
    - YouTube: Viral videos pointing to my website can get me some nice traffic.
    - Yahoo Answers: There are probably 10k's of questions in Yahoo Answers that my website can answer. (Grammatical questions, who's more famous questions..etc)
    - Facebook: Purchasing status updates from big fanpages can get my traffic boosted.
    Current Stats:
As you see below, the site is almost not getting any traffic. I just took a screenshot of my Google Analytics for it and I will try to update this one weekly:

    Website to-do list:
Here's exactly what I'm planning to add/change to the website. If the title is green, that means it's already done.
    ● Making the Script:
The first step is of course to convert the website idea to a working script.
I hired a coder (Because I forgot how to code) to make the script for me, and it's almost ready. The only thing that needs to be fixed is the PHP error the user gets when entering numbers of any non-English character. (I will block non-English characters and numbers)

    ● Getting Fans Base:
Psychologically, if you visit a website and see that it has zero likes, you'll probably conclude that the website isn't popular, therefore it isn't useful. That's why I built a small fanpage before I even started to market the website.
You are probably wondering how I got my first 6.9k fans even though I have almost zero traffic.
What I did is that I directed some traffic from one of my websites that gets huge 3rd-tier countries traffic to the doIsay.com Fanpage, asking them to like it [IMG] . (Never thought that traffic could really help me)

    ● Adding "Trending":
If I don't link to my inner pages from my homepage, the crawlers may never visit these pages and therefore they may never get indexed. Therefore I decided to link to the most popular searches of the last 48 h0urs from the homepage.
The purpose of this isn't just for SEO, this will also explain to the visitor how our website can be used in different ways. (Again, I want this website to look super simple, so explaining to the visitor with a text isn't a very smart decision).
And of course the third goal for this add-on, is that it's fun to see what people are comparing the most. (Therefore it'll improve their experience, and that's what we want).

    ● Stronger Interlinking:
Adding the "Trending" isn't enough to get my pages indexed. As I also want other non-popular pages to get indexed. For this purpose, I'm thinking of putting "Random :" in the website's footer and then I can make the script to link to random pages from every page. You are welcome to give me your opinions about this in the comments.

    ● Better SEO for Inner Pages:
As you see now, I almost have no content in the inner pages, and that'll make it much harder to rank these pages for the specific keywords.
So I decided to improve the inner pages' SEO:
    1) Having the keywords in the title.
    2) Having the keywords in the meta description.
    3) Having more text in the pages.
    4) Having the keywords in <H1> tags.
    Marketing to-do list:
Same as above, I'll be updating the "Marketing to-do list" whenever I add/change something. If the title is green, it means that the task is already done.

    ● Create a YouTube channel:
I'll get a YouTube channel and upload some videos after I finish improving the user experience on the website to the best possible one.

    ● Off-Site SEO Process :
I'll update here each and every SEO step I'll take.
Before doing massive SEO on the website, I need to achieve the Google's trust. Therefore for the first 2 months what I'm gonna do is :
    1) Purchase high pagerank blog posts.
    2) Get few EDU backlinks.
    3) Purchase some bookmarks. (For both homepage and inner pages)
After that I might increase the rate, but first I need to make sure not to spam the website with weak links.

    ● Purchase a Facebook status update:
Purchasing a status update from a big Facebook fanpage can boost my website's traffic. But first, I need to finish improving the user experience.
That's everything for today folks. I promise to keep updating this thread whenever I take a step, make a change or have an idea.

Thanks for reading & Have a wonderful day! :snowwave:

Very informative! Will follow your progress. Many times simplistic is superior to an overkill approach. Great work!

its actually a very interesting project. I hope you can get it to work.

I know you glossed over it but how do these pages come to life? So if I want to see who is more popular Mogli from Jungle book or Tarzan it finds the stats for me right? But does it create a page with that term too?

I can't understand what you are trying to ask.

Are you asking how does the script decide which keyword is more important?

Nice project. There are many factors you did not take into consideration:
    target audience
    design
    flow
    retention
    ...

I don't know if this is your goal but if you need help in any of these subject you are welcome to talk to me.

    I'm really digging this!

What are your plans with the pages that are created?

Are you going to write articles on them?

Since the person above didn't ask again. How does the script decide which keyword?

Hey, you may want to check out googlefight.com
    It's a similar idea and I don't think they've updated it in 10 years.
