Hey guys - Yet another journey thread. I have always been a PT IMer and I want to take it to the next level now that my life has settled down. I have chosen YT + CB b/c I've worked in these areas before.

In this journal I will not reveal any specific details (gig URLs, niches, etc). It'll strictly show the clickbank stats page and the type of gigs I've used.

    GAME PLAN
    • INVESTMENT - To start, I have about $250 to invest into this project. Hopefully, my other IM income source continues to grow so that I have more money to invest. I anticipate that income to make at least $30 a week. I plan to use all this income to reinvest into this project. The majority of my tasks will be outsourced.
    • KEYWORD RESEARCH - I have a few niches in mind. I am going to be aiming for a niche with a higher gravity - likely above 100+. I have decided to start off with 2 niches and several keywords within those niches. I will be targeting low competition keywords. This will be outsourced via Fiverr. I will select my 2 niches and order the gigs right after writing up this journal. I will be selecting the niches based on the CB product I want to market.
    • VIDEO CREATION - As the keywords are getting researched, I will be doing some research on youtube myself for the types of videos I want to get outsourced. There are several videos I want to try such as whiteboard animation sales videos, product testimonials, and slide show type videos. These videos will be outsourced. I will be drafting a quick script of what I want to be said and then will be hiring a copywriter with sales experience to change the script to make it a script that could generate sales. I know what kind of script I want, I just don't think I could write it up myself. I want a script that will play with the customers emotions and make them inquire further. I do not like very sales pitch type scripts very much.
    • YOUTUBE/GOOGLE RANKING - Not exactly sure what kind of SEO I will be doing on these videos, so I'll talk about this more once I get to this step. I will however be purchasing gigs that will give me high retention video views, likes, favorites. I will be purchasing customized comments. My goal is to have my video not look spammy and everything very professional. I will be creating a channel that is high quality.
    • REVIEW - I guess the only thing left is to review the results and keep that strategies that work and drop the ones that didn't. Then rinse and repeat. I know that it'll take some time for videos to rank so this journal may be longer before I actually make a sale. I am pretty patient and will keep at it until I've reached my goal.

    Stay tuned!

    • Thanks Thanks x 4

    Hey man,

Just wanted to wish you the best of luck on your journey. I too am trying my hand at ranking YouTube videos to make some cpa/affiliate commissions. Let me know how you go - would be cool to keep in touch to discuss progress etc.

PRO TIP: If you find good keywords, dont EVER release the search volume. Just say its a good search amount.

Other than that, good luck op! :D

    Thanks

I am planning on having dedicated YT accounts for each niche - so I guess only 2 for now.

    UPDATE

    KEYWORD RESEARCH
    • Like I said in my earlier thread, I did some research on the CB marketplace and have chosen 2 niches. They are both in the SELF HELP area as I think these will be the easiest to market as this is the category that presents the most problems. For each niche, I've selected two products, which actually have a gravity of between 30 - 60 (not the 100+ that I was originally thinking). I've looked at the landing page and they appear to be well made and professionally done. I've read the comments for each product description and selected the ones that have been on the market place for some time. I've avoided the weight loss niche, but will probably dive into it later. I've then purchased $10 worth of gigs for keyword research - 1 per niche.
    • I will spend the remainder of the day looking at YouTube for competition and on Fiverr/SEOclerks for gigs that I want for video creation and SEO. I also gotta look for a youtube account provider for PVAs.

    Available Cash
    Money Invested $250.00
    Keyword research $(10.00)
    Net Available Cash $240.00

Well if you're going to release search volume info on your KW's, then send that info to a TRUSTED member so he/she can look at it, dont post it on your thread.
Because if people see you're making good money, and they know the search volume for the keyword, they'll be looking all over at many different keywords with the same amount, then they'll look for your video, and compare it to anything you said you did to it, they may even check the affiliate ID of your CB link to see if it matches your username.

Point being: Don't leave clues, and traces behind that people can pickup to find your video.

And thanks, glad I could give you some inspiration and info bro :D

Best of luck with this journey, it would be great if you write the script by yourself.

ANOTHER PRO TIP: Aside from keyword research, the script is another VERY important part bro.
Be sure it doesn't sound salesy, if you're making it from a video testimonial view.
You want it to be emotional, and believable to the point where it triggers someones feelings and get's them engaged in the video.

Thanks, but I'm not too worried about releasing the search volume. The chances of them re-engineering the millions of keywords is very unlikely.

For now I'll probably just stick with what I got at Fiverr - I'll take that list and do a little bit of research myself. Ordering that gig was more really to get me kick started on the keywords and take out alot of that research time.

I am not the best script writer - so thats why I choose to buy it from someone who could write. I will change it up though to my liking though.

Actually, I thought about it and I think I'm going to try both approaches. I'll try the salesy type of videos as well as the "genuine" videos. I was looking up youtube videos in my niche and theres a good mix of the two types of videos. I'm sure they both work and I'll test out both to see how they both do.

    UPDATE

    • Not much of an update today as the majority of the day was spent researching my niche for whats already on youtube and other youtube seo threads, etc.
    • I got a good understanding of whats out there and I did a lot of research on ONSITE YOUTUBE SEO. One thread that really stood out to me was http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/youtube/598120-guide-ranking-youtube-videos-youtube-google.html. I will be using this guideline to do all my onsite SEO as the post is pretty solid. Thanks to Takers on that one.
    • On the off-site SEO side, I've decided to go ahead and get a mix of SeNuke gigs, some high PR gigs, article directories, wiki links, etc for each of my videos. I will try to create a link pyramid and flush them all through some indexing site. I will be generating several of the same videos (but changing the backend properties of it so that it appears as a non duplicate to Youtube) and targeting several long tail keywords. I don't imagine these videos will need alot of backlinks to get them rank - but I guess we'll see. This also reminds me that I will need to find a good program/website that'll help me track my videos and rankings. I've made a good list of gigs and services from BHW and seoclerk of what I'm planning on using.
    • The keyword research gig hasn't come in yet. I did however look up a few guys for script writing and setup 2 gigs to get a script written for my video testimony for each niche.
    • I've downloaded camtasia studies for video editing - mainly to add my call to action at the end of the videos that I'll get made up as soon as I get the scripts in.
    • On the investment side of things, I've made a few sales and brought my investment balance back to $250. This will give me a good cash flow to really test out everything.

    CASH SPEND
    Keyword Research x2 $(10.00)
    Script writing x2 $(10.00)

Hopefully I can get something interesting up shortly!

    UPDATE

    QUICK RECAP
    • I purchased 30 PVA youtube accounts and I've received them
    • Great News! So I've received my script as well as my keyword research report. The script was just okay, it definitely got me the bones of the script so I'm pretty happy with that - I've gone through the script once and made -some changes, however, I want to go through it a few more times before I make a testimonial video out of it. On the other hand, the keyword research gig was definitely worth the money. I got a very detailed report with many of the long tail keywords that I wanted. This particular gig has rated each long tail keyword with their own difficulty rating (which I agree with comparing all the variables) - so this definitely makes things much easier.
    • I've started on working on Niche 1, I haven't touched Niche 2 yet.

    KEYWORDS - NICHE 1

I've gone through the keywords and picked about 5 keywords I wanted to rank for. These keywords were what I thought were more "selling" type keywords as well as what I thought I could rank for. I've selected a few from a difficultly rating to a very easy rating. I've also checked to see if those keywords had a video ranked in the top 10 in the serps. I will take these 3 videos and duplicate them to target these 5 keywords. These 5 keywords range in Local search between ~1,000 - 15,000.

    YT ONSITE OPTIMIZATION

I got 3x the whiteboard video made. This whiteboard ranges with an average length of 3 min. I am in the self help niche and this video basically tells a story of the problem of someone I know, etc. Then I made a call to action. I also added a part of the video which encourages the viewer to tell their story in the comment boxes below. I think this will help with triggers especially when people read about other peoples problems in the comment box. Otherwise, I will write up custom comments and get a gig going of getting "people" telling their own story and me responding to them, etc. I want to aim to get about 10 comments on each youtube video. For the title, I am putting the main keyword in followed by a secondary keyword. In the description is my call to action link and the description is basically my transcript of the video. I've added an annotation link to link directly to my site which then forwards them off to CB. Upon writing this post, I've done 1 of the 5 videos so far. I will get the rest up right after this.

Things are coming together nicely so hopefully I'll have something interesting for you guys by the end of this week

    QUICK UPDATE

Hey guys - so just a quick update of what I've learned in the last day while setting up
my channel, video, and SEO. To start off, linking external websites to YouTube. After
receiving those PVAs and trying to link an external website via annotations, I found
out you need to do the following:

    http://cypressnorth.com/search-engine-marketing/add-external-links-youtube-video-annotations/

That link solved that issue. I've edited my channel to add the YT cover page, profile picture
and channel description. I've gone through the settings and turned off all the advertisements, etc.
I've now have 1 video uploaded that I am happy with (4 others are uploaded, however, they are
not optimized for their video description, title, call to action - annotations, etc.

I purchased a domain and installed a fresh wordpress on it. I bought a general website (you'll need
this website URL to verify your external links for annotations). I installed a redirect plugin to handle
all my affiliate links. I was contemplating on whether I should use Iframes instead, but we'll try this
out first and see how it goes.

As for the SEO side of things, I did some window shopping. I found a few gigs that will get me
about 100K views, 100 likes, comments and subscribers. However, I want get at least 3 of my videos
optimized so that I can buy in bulk and save a good 30%. I also found a few other gigs offer google
signals and I'll spread through across 3 videos. I've decided to go with a link pyramid that I found with
an link indexing service. From there I'll look at my competition and gauge how much banklinks, PR, etc
they have and I'll adjust my SEO to get enough to surpass them.

Thats all for now until I get my other videos optimized.

    UPDATE

Alright - now that the holidays are over, i'll have alot more time to really get this project going.
I typically like to be organized so I've now tracked all my keywords in an excel with their competition
information and rankings. Today, uploaded a total of 13 videos. In the image below, each line represents
a different keyword. I'm releasing all the stats, cause I feel it's more meaningful if you can see the full picture
without being able to reverse engineer my videos. Each identical ID represents the keyword targeted per video.
I've updated my current rankings upon upload.

I've gone through the keyword report that the one gig provided me. I sorted them for a search count above 200
then sorted for an average backlink page of less than 10K. I also sorted for only medium difficultly - easy keywords.
Then I sorted for the lowest SERPS. Then i went through each keyword and thought to myself whether it was a buyers
keyword. If it was then I marked it down and attached it to the most appropriate video I had for that keyword. This gave me
the 25 keywords that I am now working on. I think 25 is a good number to really test out this niche.

I got about 6 or so videos (some I scraped, some I made myself, and some are whiteboards). These 6 videos have been
duplicated and uploaded. The way I duplicated the video was I changed the hash code for the video. I did this by using
a bat file and writing directly to the file. (learned this way back when I use to do bh yt methods). Works like a charm.
For the duplicated videos, I made sure that I didn't use the same thumbnail just so people who look at my channel
don't see multiple videos of the same thumbnail (not sure if this is the best thing to do, but I'm going to go with it
    and see how it goes).

So far, no Google rankings which is not a surprise as I just uploaded 12 of the 13 videos (I deleted all my older
videos except 1 as these videos weren't properly setup for a good call to action. I've used camtasia and remade all
the videos to add in a call to action. The call to action is just a picture that I setup to be included at the end
of the video for x amount of seconds to point to my link. The 12 videos have not yet been optimized. I still need
to go through them and edit the description, tags, annotation (for a call to action), etc. These are all uploaded
to one account. I don't plan on uploading anymore to this account.

My initial look at the YT rankings compared to the "difficultly" pretty much speaks for itself. The easier or
relatively easier keywords are ranked higher in YT as there is less competition of these YT videos. The more
difficult ones are not even ranked in the top 100, but im glad that a majority of them are within the top 100.
I've looked up each video on google and determined if there was a video already ranked on the first page. I've
also noted down what position that video is. I guess my logic behind this is that no video on first page is better
    for me.

In terms of rank tracking, I found a free online tool called http://rankcheckerace.com/login
This is free and works very nicely for my purpose. To track Youtube rankings, I am using a free tool that was
created on this forum for free. The tool is super simple and does exactly what I want. Props to the creator for
    that.

Keyword ID 1 - The video for this keyword is indexed in google, however, is not ranked in the top 100. The
video has been optimized for title, description, annotation, etc. I've ordered gigs for this already and so far only
the link pyramid has been delivered. The views, likes, comments, favs are currently being delivered. According to the
table, the backlinks of the pages in the top 10 average about 2.8K backlinks. This is the magic number I'm going to
aim for until I get more data to assess whether I need more pyramids, high PR links, etc.

There still quite a bit I have to do, I gotta optimize all my videos and then start ordering gigs. I'm going to be ordering
gigs targeting the easier keywords. In my mind, I shouldn't need too much to get in the top 10 for google, but we'll
see how that goes. I gotta update my channel with a description.

Thats all for now - hopefully my videos get ranked in google shortly

    UPDATE

So nothing too exciting yet, but I did get alot of work done. On the SEO side of things
To start more than half of my videos have been indexed. I've purchased a total of
6 orders (3 senuke full montys and 3 link pyramids) to 6 different videos. I've optimized
everyone of my videos and included annotations to all of them giving the user an option
to click to my redirected clickbank site. I've ordered most of this either yesterday or today.
I want to wait until these 6 have been completed so I can test out whether or not I move
up the rankings before I buy them for the rest of the videos. Perhaps I'll buy a few gigs
on the videos I have already promoting.

Of the seo gigs i've ordered, i checked the backlinks on these through a backlink checker
site called ahref. I've noticed on some of the seo gigs i've ordered, they have already
been recognized and indexed. Some of them avg 15 - 30 links on the very first day so
it's looking promising. I'll update the # of backlinks indexed and quality score that ahref
gives me against the competition in the future update to get a better idea of what kind of
links is needed in order to rank out websites on googles rankings.

I've also ordered High retention YT views across all 13 videos. It appears they deliver this
over 20 days or so which is perfect. I'm going to wait until they trickle in a bit and then I'll
    start adding in likes/favs/etc.

So just looking at the YT rankings. After finishing optimizing everything and after some time,
it appears as YT has recognized my changes and moved me up. It took a few hours for
YT to recognize my changes. I'll know that for next time to have it all optimized before I
upload so it doesn't have to go through the wait while it ranks. As the views start coming
in and I go buy some likes/comments and what not, I can't wait to see how the YT rankings
    start changing.

I wanted to do a cost analysis of each video, but its pretty hard when theres alot of gigs ordered
that split. So I'm just gonna do an aggregate of what I've purchased and keep a running total.

Type | Quantity | Total Cost
    Keyword Research | 1 | 5.00
    Script writing | 1 | 5.00
    Video creation | 2 | 10.00
    PVA YT Accounts (30 accounts) | 1 | 5.00
    Domain | 1 | 10.00
    High Retention Views | 2 | 10.00
    Senuke - Full Monty | 2 | 10.00
    Link Pyramid | 3| 15.00

    Total Cost 70.00
Investment Balance ~$225 (I get daily sales from this income so it's been almost offsetting against what I've been spending)

I thought so too, but someone found the keywords for both of videos in the past. Luckily no damage occurred.
I probably released some other info at one point, can't remember, but either way better safe than sorry.

    I guess lol Thanks though

    Thanks

Oh, but I want to get traffic from Youtube and not Vimeo. Thanks though

    UPDATE

I'm really liking the results now. If you look at the first picture below, you'll notice that most of
the YT rankings have increased. I imagine this is mainly due to YT recognizing my optimization
of the descriptions as I inputted that in late. The only other possibility is that the rankings are
due to the high retention views I bought. At the time of updating the YT rankings, there was
a good ~1,000 or so views on each video.

Most of my YT videos are now indexed in google - however none of them have reached top
    100. If you look at the second image, I'm tracking which SEO i'm using to get backlinks on which
video. From there, i can watch the backlinks that are coming in and compare it to my rankings
in google. This will help me in the future as I can then pinpoint what I'll need to put into a video
in order to get it ranked and which gigs to use to get there. I've received the links for 1 of the
link pyramids (video 1) and all the senuke full monty ones. I am still waiting for video 3/4s SEO
to come in. After they get all delivered, I'll analyze the backlinks and order more SEO backlinks
    until rankings keep moving up.

Another thing I did was looked for a indexing service and back link checker. For all the gigs
delivered I used scrapebox and check whether all my tier 1 links have linked to my target
URLs - which in these cases, they have. I then flushed all the links into linklicous free account
    to get them crawled there.

I ordered a u2bviews account as I thought I could use it to get likes. But it didin't work as well
as I thought it was going to. So now, I'm going ot use the rest of the credits I have on custom
comments. Anyways, I gave up on u2bviews or YT likes and I just bought a gig and split the likes
across 10 videos (splittable for this specific gig). I also ordered social signals for the first and second
video whcih are dripfed over the next 10 or 15 days or so. I'll see how that goes and will continue to
watch my YT rank. If it continues to improve, I'll add one more piece - which will probably be favs and
    subs.

In terms of the cost of everything, i've spent about $85 so far, however, only $50 was really to the SEO
of the videos. Also keep in mind that I've spread many of this cost across 13 videos so thats still pretty
cheap. I have about $240 to invest.

So far no hops, but alot of videos are hitting very close to page 1 of YT so I hope they will start generating
    a little bit of traffic.

I guess thats all for now
