I've been in IM 10 years ago, when money making through adsense was still easy I quit once I got involved in a full time job etc. etc. I always kept a few websites as a hobby, but they weren't making any real money any more. They served as experiments instead to test out different SEO /social media stuff. A few months ago I started getting the 'IM fever' again and started working on one site of me in particular. Things are going ok SEO wise and I get 200+ visits / day, but it's an informative site so really tough to monetize (adsense ranges from 0.01$ to 0.40$ with CTR of 0.8%) I kept reading and wanting to do something different, even started two new niche sites, but didn't really do the right keyword research and didn't take action. Until now. The journal is meant as an extra motivation for myself, and for me to learn from. And hopefully some of you can learn from my steps and mistakes as well I'm planning on making a site targeting a niche, but with real and good articles. I want to target many variations of the keyword, so it more or less will become an authority site. Since it's a product the monetization will probably come from a combination of AdSense and Amazon. the keyword I've got the EMD for (keyword1keyword2) has only 320 exact searches, but with an extra word added it's 29000+. I'm gonna target many variations of this, all including keyword1 by adding an extra keyword to it. Search volume varies from 200 to 12000 for the important ones. CPC ranges between 1$ and 8.9$ Competition is quite low, although there are a few strong ones in the top rankings. I'm gonna try and do daily updates in this thread. Welcome aboard and please enjoy the ride!
