I joined BHW last month and I've learned so much already.

I want to keep a journal of my journey to create an authority site. My website is a local dog classifieds search using a wordpress theme. Users can post dogs adoption or to buy in my area. My website is only focused on my region.

I have 1 main keyword and many sub-keywords. I will be monitoring the progress of my main keyword to keep it simple.

    Domain Age: 1 month old

    Wordpress plugins used:

    1. AddThis
    2. Akismet
    3. Better Related Content
    4. cforms
    5. Comment Reply Notification
    6. Google XML Sitemaps
    7. Recently Registered
    8. User Photo
    9. Wordpress SEO
    10. Wordpress SEO-Rank
    11. WP-UserOnline
    Competitors: Craigslist, Ebay Classifieds, Oodle

    Markting Tools/Methods:
Twitter - Every listing my users post will be fed to our Twitter account using Twitterfeed
Facebook page - Every listing will be fed to our Facebook page using Twitterfeed
Craigslist - I use Craigslist mailer/email scrapper to email everyone that posts in the Pets section about my website daily
Ebay/Oodle - I email people who post dogs at these 2 sites to post my site

    SEO Methods:
I don't have scrapebox or xrumer. I mainly buy services from the buy/sell forum. You will see reviews of purchased services.

    Services Purchased:

    1. BigBuddy's EDU Package(completed)
    2. krishananda's social bookmarking service(completed)
    3. secondeye's PR links(pending)
    4. easycash27's High authority profile links(pending)
    5. Fiver 50 edu comments(completed)
Main Keyword: 9000 searches monthly, .52 competition
Potential searches/month with all keywords: 50,000/month

If you offer SEO services here and wish to donate, I can write a review here along with results in screenshots.

I will be starting at day 21 because I've already spent 21 days on it.

    Day 21

I can't post images or URL links so i cannot show you visually. If a mod can remove this restriction for me, that'd be great.

For now, I will type out the stats.

    Ordered services:
    secondeye's profile service(pending)
    easycash27's High authority profile links(pending)

    Completed service review:
    BigBuddy's EDU Package(completed)
The first service I purchased here. It got my site ranking on the second page for my main keyword within a week. Great service here. No complaints.
    krishananda's social bookmarking service(completed)
This service moved my main keyword to page 1 at #7. This is pretty darn good. Please keep in mind that my site is 1 month old going up against Ebay, Oodle, and Craigslist as well as other related websites.

    Fiver 50 edu comments(completed)
For 5 bucks, I got 50 .edu comments. However, those pages were spammed like crazy. I will not purchase any linking service again from Fiverr. Too risky.
Current ranking for main keyword: 7

    May 27th Stats:
    Google Impressions: 1,300
    Average crawl rate: 262
    Pages indexed: 787
    Visits: 359
    Bounce rate: 30%
    Pages/visit: 7.50
    Search engine visits: 79

    Planned Action:
Waiting for secondeye and easycash27's services to be done and then see where my rankings are. Continue to spam Craigslist posters from the Pets section. Continue to email Oodle/Ebay(my competitions) posters to tell them to post on my website for free.

Are you making any money? Good luck with your venture. I plan to get to work on my old blogs this summer. I had them sitting since 2006.

    I'm not sure. :D

I know that my site has a lot of potential because many of my pages are already ranking on page 1 for their key words and it's less than 1 month old.

I'm also ranked higher than Craigslist, Ebay, Oodle on 2 or 3 of my main keywords already.

I guess I become an authority site when I'm competitive with Ebay, Craigslist, Oodle when it comes to listings in my region. Right now, I have a lot of catching up to my competitors.
