INITIAL GOAL: Consistent $250 a day.

Hey all figured I would start my own journal here as maybe it will help me keep up with what I need to do, idea generation and so forth. I know the initial goal might seem high but I know I can do it with some work and don't want to set a low bar for my self.

Little about me I'm a college kid working at a local restaurant waiting tables and ready to stop working 30 hours a week and just concentrate on school. I am fairly competent with computers and have done a little bit of IM in the past although not overly successfully. Plan to change that.

I am honestly going to be spreading myself out over a few niches and have actually already bought about 15 websites and domains via Flippa and buying some keywords through services on the forums here.
With these I hope to do a few things, build a passive income being the main one. I plan to outsource a lot of stuff but for now I spent a lot of money on the initial part of this so gonna get myself caught back up and go from there.

I have a few plans of attack when it comes to these websites:
    1) A few will be MicroNicheSites where I have an exact match domain and push traffic to it and just collect AdSense.
    2) A few will be Amazon driven stores with either a very specific domain or general niche domain and just have lots of items for sale in it. (Magento maybe) (Might also try some upper end expensive items here)
    3) Blogs where I have adsense ads, clickbank banners, and amazon affiliate ads on the sidebars which I also plan to pull emails and create lists for on various niches. (Maybe even get a following)
    4) Maybe at a later point creating an eBook for one of these and promoting it and selling through CB

As far as traffic goes I have started to create google alerts for a few keywords for one of the websites in order to post comments on blogs/videos to backlink to $$ sites. Also intend to write articles for 10-15 keywords for each niche and either post them to the website then republish or just having 2 separate articles one to the $$ site then one that is released and spun. Have been looking into buying high PR backlinks, and other packages from BTS section in order to get backlinks going. I am a little new to backlink stuff and honestly never been all that great at driving traffic either.

Well it is kind of late here, probably wouldn't have written this if I hadn't been woken up by my drunk roommate haha but maybe I will have some accountability now. But I figure I will end this with some questions I have and the things that I need to do. Now when I come back on here I can see what I was thinking, see what I need to do, and maybe even get a new idea or two.

    QUESTIONS:
    1) Would love to hear more on how to expand my traffic?
    2) Is Magento going to cost me monthly if I go with it? (Don't know much about it)
    3) Is Amazon affiliate still a good way to go since the new changes or should I be looking for outside affiliates?
    4) Good keyword tool I can get for free? (AdWords is good but if there's something easier/better I will take it)
    5) Backlinks- Should I be sending them to my money site from google alerts or should I send them to an ezine article that points to my money site?

    THINGS I NEED TO DO:
    1) Finish transferring hosting
    2) Finish converting all affiliate links to my own
    3) Keyword research for each site
    4) Get AdSense up and running (waiting on my new PIN to be mailed)
    5) Write or have articles written

    Thanks,
    Lee

Hey Lee..I am a positive thinking guy and I applaud anyone for taking action..However I think you should have a read through the previous 200 follow me threads before you start out. I really hope it works out for you and I realise that by starting the thread you are putting pressure on yourself to continue....but honestly your energy would be better placed in just putting your head down and doing your own thing.

    To anwser your questions:

    1) Would love to hear more on how to expand my traffic?
Use the search, but basically SEO, SEM, Social Media or buy cheap traffic
    2) Is Magento going to cost me monthly if I go with it? (Don't know much about it)
Go to their website, the basic cms is free, but you need hosting (will cost you) or you can buy those Magento-Go ready pacakges (Starting at $15/month)
    3) Is Amazon affiliate still a good way to go since the new changes or should I be looking for outside affiliates?
All works, but depends on what works for you... use search for more info and try them both
    4) Good keyword tool I can get for free? (AdWords is good but if there's something easier/better I will take it)
    - Easier, no... better, yes.. Use google or search here on BHW... I always use adwords keytool, good enough for me!
    5) Backlinks- Should I be sending them to my money site from google alerts or should I send them to an ezine article that points to my money site?
    - Due to the last Pinguin update I personally can't really say what's best....

    Good luck!

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

Duffers - Appreciate your response and I know there a lot of failures in these journals, hell I am pretty sure I made one about 3 years ago that failed. But like you said it puts pressure on myself and also gives me an opportunity to get some feedback from others.

KillerHeck - Thank you as well for the response and the time ya took to answer all those questions. Hoping my articles and such will help with SEO on the $$ site. Got the Magento going thanks! Figure I will try the Amazon for now. And AdWords oughta get me going on 10-15 good keywords for each of those, figure the "Ideas" Beta thing they have is fairly helpful as well. And I will look into the backlink stuff more but I guess the structuring of it is what is confusing me most at the time. But will figure it out :p

Kind of over slept this morning. But did get magento installed on one of the websites and found a theme that I like it for it. Now I am just going to be on the hunt for the theme for free from monster templates. Gonna avoid paying 180 bucks for it. Unfortunately got to go back into work in a few minutes here so I will have to hold off.

But goals for tonight when I get off:
    1) Get 15 keywords with 1k+ local searches a month and preferably over $0.75 estimated CPC for one site
    2) Write at least 5 500 word articles for the same keywords
    3) See if I can't find that theme

    Thanks,
    Lee

So far today have got Magento installed on two websites. Got keywords for another two sites. Also set up two basic drippable projects for both of these sites. Will do the nuclearlinkindexer when I get the money.

Next I gotta figure out how to get an extension for Magento that will pull items from Amazon and list them on Magento as if they were my own while using my affiliate link I saw one on there but it cost 400 bucks and I would prefer not to buy that haha. If anyone knows of something and could tell me how to get it I would appreciate it.

But still need to write articles and get them posted so once I stop procrastinating on that I will write them. Also hoping I will be getting the AdSense PIN this week. Seeing some traffic on one of my sites which I guess are from backlinks the person I bought it from previously had done. And one amazon store site is getting search traffic from the name of the products that are being auto posted.

As far as the articles go I think what I am going to do is write a blog post which is keyword rich, then write an article with same keyword richness and post to Ezine articles and point back to the blog post which is surrounded with CB and Amazon affiliate stuff and sooner then later should have AdSense in the blog post as well. Then maybe backlinks and social bookmarks back to the Ezine article? Still kinda trying to get the feel for structuring the traffic and building of SEO.

Got the adsense PIN in the mail today. Hasn't seemed to make my codes go active yet so will have to address that after work. Also have dripable feeds going now so I guess I need to ping them or something to that effect but after work as well.

Feel like I haven't accomplished much in the past few days so might need to go to bed early tonight and lock my self to the computer for the majority of tomorrow morning.
