    Hey BHW,

So I started working on a method involving Amazon a little while ago, however I really am turning my full focus into ORM. I spent about 2 hours today researching keywords and seeing if there are some good clients to pitch to around me and VOILA! I found SOOOO many different businesses that either had a horrible rep or web presence or both. I've gone over 7878s thread many times, and that is where I got the inspiration from. With my tax refund coming in tomorrow or the day after, I will have some good capital to work with.

I believe in setting small goals so I think being able to reach $1000/month is a reasonable milestone. With this type of work, $200/month contracts are EASY paydays and it's light work when you consider what you really have to do. The ultimate goal is definitely more than $1,000, but keeping goals within visible sight and reason is key to succeeding with IM. Many people are discouraged at the amount of effort needed to make xxx amount per month, but setting smaller goals will keep you feeling the succeed as you grow.

Currently I'm building a list of about 20-30 potential clients all in a few niches; I will not only be offering to PageRank them higher, but also improving their overall image locally. I already have a domain and hosting for my business page and have already drafted up some of my first contact items. I will be sending them a very nice package outlines all the flaws I've found revolving their business.

I will be posting updates every moment I can so stick around and follow me while I build this up. :) I'm not giving up on this one, and I think anyone can easily accomplish something like this, but you need to stay on top of working and expanding. Rome wasn't built in a day, and it wasn't a product of laziness.

Looks interesting, subscribed to the page.

if you don't mind me asking how exactly do you find your clients. Do you just look through online directories or do you just go through google local/yelp and find the bad ratings or no ratings at all?

Yeah, $200 is cheap, especially for something so important to a business. I hope the price isn't the same for all of the industries you're targeting! I look forward to seeing the pictures :)

Clients are found through 7878 methods. Which is searching google local/yelp like you said in the second one. Aslong as they have bad/very bad reviews it's send a letter with a package in it and some dice or something to make it bulky.

    As for the OP :
Looking forward to the pictures aswell. Sounds good however this is a Journey thread which should be in the Journey subforum.

I am currently using primarily YellowPages and such. I am finding the ones with bad ratings and shitty/no websites. Starting with these gives me a bit more of a shoo-in for a client because I will be able to show them more that needs to be done. More done = higher service. Finding people who could use my help is great, but finding those who NEED it... :) Eventually there will be a few streams of revenue, but starting out this will be perfect.

Haha, it definitely will not. I've always been the kind of person who knows what they're worth. Prices will be set soon, but they surely won't be all $200 lol. :) I am looking to hit an average client of about $400-500/month, and that's not including the upfront payment if they so choose, little extras, and everything else.

Yep, I currently plan on sending them a box instead of an envelope. It will cost me a bit more, but it will guarantee that they will open the box to look inside. What'll be inside however, is undecided yet. :)

Thanks for the note on the thread location. I definitely did not notice that I was still in Offline Marketing, lol. If a mod would like to move this, it's fine by me.

    Update:

    Good Morning BHW!
I hope everyone is well rested and ready for the day. So today I will be working on gathering more of my lead list, and finishing up some of the papers that will go into the mailing box. I am also going to check to see if my refund came in so that I can order some brochures and supplies. Once everything is all set, we will mail it all out, and wait. ;)

I am also working on some price points for various levels of service, and charges. I like to get the pricing done first so that everything else can be built around my costs. Like I said before, I plan on charging for everything needed including supplies.

I'll also be jotting down some ideas for an application that will allow me to automatically find leads. Pretty fun huh? It will be simple, and use the most common internet listing sites to save business information based on a few criteria.

Other than that, it will be a boring day. I got to work at 3pm today, but am off tomorrow. So today will be light and small, but tomorrow I can go full steam. Hopefully some pics will come soon, I just don't have anything to realistically photograph. Lol. Take care everyone. See you tomorrow.

I would recommend moving this thread to the Journeys section, but best of luck!

    Update:

    Hey everyone,

I really pushed these last few days. Not only did I get some studying in for my A+, but I did some more client research and added to my databases. I've also finished a few of the legal forms and contracts. I always like finishing a backbone before I call out to my first clients. As a little side-project, I'll be offering smaller, automated service packages for anyone who wants to buy online.

I also took the time to plunge into my personal contacts and resources to put the word out of what I will be offering. Word of mouth is definitely going to be one of the main driving forces behind all my new accounts. Since I have worked with or done work with many of them, they will be happy to refer me with a great reference to their friends.

I currently am focusing on these parts:
[ ] Finalizing and ordering customer packages.
[ ] Decide on final price points and contract terms.
[ ] Plan and launch Craigslist Campaign for residual leads.
    [ ] Finish up website.

I'm getting close to putting this whole thing online, and I really expect high output out of this. Maybe even job-quitting output.

Can anyone recommend a good place to order my client packages? Just wanted to know if there are any businesses that you guys have good service from.

Well, work had me swamped this whole week, so I didn't do much other than some small stuff here and there. I think I have my lead list ready, and am pretty much ready to send in a printing order to get some papers done. I'm still looking for a printer that is good and affordable. I'm about to just use Vistaprint, but their quality sometimes is dodgy, and I can't be looking cheap ;)

I will do a proper update soon though. Maybe even tonight.
