it have been 3 years sice i have been a member of this community got so much from it!

though i never took IM seriously , but i always made a good amount from Internet .... sometimes doing this sometimes doing that! i am no pro i just know how to make money Online... i know a little bit of everything i have got some capital to invest .....
though my experience in internet world is not worth brag about....but in offline world i have been a master.... i was working brand merchandising and corporate gifting company as a supply chain manager...in mumbai...we worled for some leading brands and i have a massive supplier list....but the work is just too hectic...so i decided to find my own venture....i want to be my own boss....

it have been 3 months since i took this resolution....

i gonna use my offline marketing and supply managing tactics with ecommerce.... (i want to found a more stable income and more chances of expansion)....

as of now in past 3 months

i have tied up with a supplier of leather bags....these bags are really classy...and foreigners really like them + the profit margin is quite huge....
but as soon as i tied up...i realised that maintaining both the parts (offline and online) gonnat be a tough job....so i posted a thread on BHW looking for a partner who gonna take care of the online part..... i found another indian to be a part of this business..... we have almost established our website called Handsmadeit.com \
we are still into processing .... i soon gonna update about the process we followed to establish it! (it gonna be a real help for those who want to get into ecommerce)

    secondly
i have undertaken a web development order for a local store.... he paid me 1000$ to set up his site... his facebook page... 5000 likes ....400$ worth of adwords marketing.....i am almost done with him.....will make a profit of around 500$ .......the site is called skullfashiononline.com ..he have got a huge store of designer wear clothing in my city......i have made another marketing plan for him...which i gonna disclose once i get the complete payment.....

i have started this journal to be aware and motivated in my work...i will answer all the questions ....and will elaborate my methods and legal procedures here in this thread... so please stay tuned!

The Process To Start a Ecommerce Website!
well the process is quite simple and divided into 4 parts
    1. Finding the right product and supplier or dropshipper
as the internet gurus brag about that finding the right product needs a lot of market and keyword research, i believe that finding a product and a dropshipper is the most simple task.......

i followed a real casual approach to it.... for a week i walked the leading shopping streets of my city.....talking to most of the shopkeepers about there products...how they make it where they buy the supply from and all.....
please select a product which is easily available in local market.... moreover the manufacturing of the product is near your local market.... in my case i found some real classy leather products.... These products are speciality of our state... the purchase price is quite low...and there isnt any established brand ....so i can sell them at whatever price i want (after my own branding)...... i found a small shop at the end of the street...he had quite a lot of stock ....but by the appearence i figured out he doesnt make much sales....... i started a casual talk with him.... asking about the products ...the rates..... then i presented a offer infront of him...that i sell his product online..... i said " i will click some photos of your products and list them on my website, you supply me on your retail price and i sell on my price" .....he was happy to deal with me....its a win win situation for him........
i found a local seller coz its hard to maintain offshore dropshipper....it gets hectic... you can understand the ease when the dropshipper is just a few miles away from u...

    2) deciding the way of selling and market research

as my supplies were hand made...i thought that ebay and other similar platforms will be the best platform to sell those.....but soon i was confused..it was them when my partner came into the scene..... he did a good keyword research.....and decided to establish our own site....and use ebay alike platform to get traffic....
    3) opening your store

my partner decided to use wordpress as the developing platform
he bought a theme called shopperpress it had a nice simple yet powerfull interface....we decided to use paypal checkout once the site was up
i had to take photographs of the products....i was tight on budget so i hired a amature photographer.....and trust me he did a shitty job!
the photographs are the back bone of your site....the better the demonstration of products the better the sales.
so i decided to invest a little sum in buying a DSLR and a portable light kit....

though i havent clicked the pics yet....but i have been experimenting a lot with the camera....m quite comfirtable now to click the products.... i am waiting for my brand tags to arrive...once they come i organize another photoshoot...we gonna start up with 20 products.....the base products were not professional and lacked some essentials like shoulder strap laptop padding etc. so i talked with the supplier and he said the modifications can be done....i paid him for those 20 products which gonna feature on our website....and he is at his job of modifiyng them...once done i will update

    4. marketing strategy and traffic generation
we still have to work on our marketing strategy....but Blackhat adwords and ebay gonna be a main part of it

i am meeting the supplier today....lets see if he is done...

    i will update you soon

This is a million dollar market if done right, now just focus on traffic.

edit: just checked your site there are errors, fix these before any kind of marketing.

well ..... i am not putting any capital in this... i have tied up with a wholesaler....i click and market his products.... once i set this process on autopilot ....i will move on to another wholesaler or dropshipper
edit- if you one need custom designs...he will have to get it manufactured.... but minimum order is mostly 50 pieces...which requires investment.....
and these are handmade leather products..... leather tanned without use of chemicals.... thats how it gets its vintage look... these bags are collectible sort of products...with 20-30 products ever made in a particular design

Im starting an online store myself. I found a keyword I am targeting locally. It is apparel based and there is very little competition with regards to SEO and Price.

I went with Magento and bought a cool theme. Installation was very simple. Your website looks real good though!

    Good luck with your journey!

Like OP said, you don't need much funds if you go about it well. Some businesses kick off with under $50.
