As the post title says, John Mueller of Google stated that they ignore most web 2.0 and article links now. His post can be viewed here, where he states the following:

We're already mostly ignoring those links (just like we're ignoring the "web 2.0" / Pinterest / YouTube / article / etc links),

I did not see any other posts here related to John's comments. Any opinions?

He's full of shit, it has never been easier to rank with web 2.0

We're already mostly ignoring John Mueller (just like we're ignoring the "web spam team" / Matt Cutts / Google+ / etc)

Okay, this is the ultimate proof that everything that comes from google's mouth is bullshit.

You can't buy into this Google propaganda bullshit.

You have to test everything on your own and not just take what you hear as truth.

Of course he does, and that would be for the one reason that Web2 are most effective at ranking sites. Google's anti spam tactics are pathetically child like.

Ha ha ha! Ask whoever you want you can rank using web 2.0's, that's a good ol' bullshit from Google.

Not conjecture , but PURE BS-

Proof: I just YESTERDAY scrapeboxed a web 2.0 (Docsite) page to the top of the serps now for two days for all google datacenters-

pure spam backlinks and NOTHING ELSE.
Above PA/DA sites of 80, sites with 15+ years aging, etc etc.

Don't even READ or listen to the talking heads: see the serps and carry on

Well few weeks ago there was rumor flying around you cant rank YT as G rolled out new updates, but I am still been able to rank my new videos & bank with CPA.Hallelujah!

Ignore him and Give him Results with Just Web 2.0 Links. and than Ask If Ignores why you got Ranked.

They systematically eliminated all link sources except for a few, web 2.0's, guest posts, article links ergo contextual links being the most trustworthy after social links these days.

If they pull the plug on contextual links, the search engine of Google is dead or close to it. Ain't gonna happen, and contextual links will NEVER be a source of penalty, because it will mean that the whole WWW will be penalized, which will mean that we will all be at the same level again. Get the paradigm?

He is talking sh*t, I'm not the only one with results to prove him wrong!

I've been on some Google hangouts w. John in the past and he's usually a pretty straight shooter - comparatively anyways. Curious if he is eluding to something to come perhaps? Surely 2.0s are still working, granted, no 2.0 I push isn't backed with tiers of GSA spam...Perhaps alone they aren't looked at much?
