    Hello,

I just got fired from my job on Friday, I was a bank teller so it wasn't heartbreaking. I have inquired about several jobs and I am getting a lot of "call us in the new year" blah blah. I have a handful of websites with adsense currently earning below $50 a month, they used to be in the $10/day range but that's gone. I am also trying out the whole 7878 ORM method and may be closing a client this week for around $400 a month. However I am looking for ways to earn money in the meantime. I figured I would be fine until early 2013 because my girlfriend had a decent job, however she just got fired last night, Yikes!

I've made an iWriter profile and made some Fiverr gigs involving article writing and some other simple things. However I don't think it will be enough. Can anyone point me towards something like iWriter or fiver where I can make money easily. Maybe give some insight on how to get a good Fiverr gig going, I don't think I will get a lot of sales with a new profile and nothing over the top to offer.

I am hoping that I can get a handful of ORM clients but I am waiting until January before I start getting in touch with prospects. However its not looking good unless I can get something going soon.

Any advice is welcome. Thanks guys.

The ORM thing will work if you put a lot of time into it and do it right. Don't wait til January to contact them, contact them now AND in January if they don't respond to the first letter or phone call.

My best advice for the position you're in right now is if you close that $400 a month client, take that $400 and try to get 10 more clients.

Bootstrap everything until you are making enough to live. If you can't reinvest that $400 then take at least $100 and try to find a couple more clients.

Another thing. If you get that $400 client, go buy scrapebox and then get on fiverr and seoclerks and offer cheap blasts. People will eat that up. Get some AA (Auto Approved) lists and run generic comments with their URL/keywords.

You can get scrapebox for $57 instead of $97 through BlackHatWorld.

    Here's the sales thread...

As far as the ORM goes, I am getting a lot of business owners too busy to talk, or are asking me to contact them in January. I may have a couple other clients coming up in January if I can manage to close the deal.

With Fiverr what is the best way to get your gig seen. I assume the more ratings/collections you have etc will help. Are there ways to get reviews easy?

    +rep btw

I'm not to sure about fiverr. I know on SeoClerks you can buy featured gigs and get more exposure.

Might as well try both out :)

And thanks for the +rep :)

If you never made any serious money from IM - first thing to do is to find a real job.
Looking working methods in IM without experience to sustain your live will NEVER work.
Find new job even at McDonalds, build your side business and when you are making twice as much as you need to survive - quit your job and focus on IM.
Not trying to put you down, but I have seen too many people burning their savings over the IM hype and ending up in their parents house.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I was doing well with adsense and some affiliate sites for a while as well, but that has all gone FAR down :( I have been trying method after method and I keep wasting my time. I think larger niche sites are what works now and you need to have SEO that is QUALITY and that will always last. I am currently working on a SEO strategy that is all quality and will last for a long time.

Sites take a long time to get search engine traffic though, so unless you have an effective way of getting instant traffic, then you should try getting clients or getting a real world job.

You got fired from one of the best starter jobs in the world 'Bank Teller' and it was not heartbreaking!

OK - What to do? Move right along the bus carriage and get off at the next stop - keep walking and don't come back...

Geez these threads are everywhere!!! :(

GET A REAL JOB FIRST!!! If you've never made a consistent living off IM, you need a real job.

Once you can earn a consistent income via IM, STILL KEEP YOUR REAL JOB and start putting away a rainy day nest egg.

Eventually when you finally start ballin through IM, then and only then finally quit your real job and do IM full-time. Easy peezy.

Apply for a similar job at another place?

Do IM on the side until you are confident that you can survive with IM alone

So pathetic, writing is a pretty good way to get going real fast. You need to really have the interest and skills then setup account with fiverr, elance, constant content, iwriter and the likes. Push for good reviews and be professional and ethical in your dealing will go along way in bring in decent sales. If you work at it earnestly for 3months you should afford a website and run SEO on it. Other means of income I know takes time and expertise. Wish you all the best.

I don't think it's the right time for you to focus on your IM sites. Work on that in your spare time. Right now, try the service industries - a lot of these must have attrition now due to the festive season and people wanting to spending time with the family. If you are a good techie guy, try all the freelancing sites. But they are again not long term. Do understand that..

If you are good at writing you should be able to keep a steady stream of income coming in until you and your girlfriend get back into the work force. While on Fiverr you might not make a lot of money it is good practice and a good place too start. Make your first writing gig 2 Keyword / SEO Articles (300 words each). You should get a flood of orders. If you pm me the gig I will even order 1 :) After you get used to it you can edit the Gig from there. Do not just go with Fiverr however as there payment system is delayed by 15+ days, there juice is high 20% and of course the pay is low. Immediately go onto a site like Odesk or Elance and start hunting for writing gigs there as well. With practice you should get the hang of it. Make sure you have a top notch job proposal template and a few great writing samples viewable online and you should be off to good start.

I'm sorry, I didn't elaborate too much in my post. I have made a decent income in the past with IM, just not too recently. 2011 I had an affiliate site for mail in gold buyers and I made near $200,000usd but the site died with google updates.

I am looking for things to do for the next two weeks or so while most of the employers I've contacted said to call back in January. I'm not sitting around hoping money will fall in my lap so I am looking for things to do online like iWriter, Fiverr, oDesk, etc. I wasn't counting on hitting the jackpot with some method overnight.

Thanks for the replies, also whoever said bank teller was one of the best starter jobs... You may be right, but it is some of the worst work I have ever done and I have had easily more than 10 jobs in my life.

I am currently applying for LionBridge, I have attempted in the past but was immediately turned off by the ~10 hour exam before hire. Is leapforce any easier?

I was in your shoes during my join date. I effectively ranked sites and spoke about it on facebook, then friends and family refereed me to others for SEO work, I close a few deals and I was on my way.

You have to network, add friends to your fb profile and then friend their mutual friends. You would be surprised at the people looking for seo. I turn down work every month now.

Hmm, I haven't really thought of that. Where do you live in Florida? That's where I live.
