I have been doin IM since i lost my job a couple of months. With this recession in the States its been hard as hell to find a lucrative paying job even if your OVER QUALIFIED. So I resorted into IM which hasnt been bad considering i have made a few bucks. but its not as easy as I thought it would be and I havent had the success I need to have for myself personally.

Each individual person on here has their own standard goals to reach that will keep them happy or atleast to keep them pushing to their ultimate goal. For example: some ppl can get by with 200 a week and some need to have 2000 a week. Although im sure everyone's overall goal is to make as much as you can.

So with my back against the wall, with my family, my mortgage and debts, and not accumulating as much as I need on a weekly basis, I decided to fill out an application last week. And what do you know I got scheduled for an interview for Next Monday.

I created this thread because im stuck in a loophole. I really enjoy doing what im doing now(being my own boss, home all day, and learning more about making money online)but the earnings I need to accumulate to salvage my life aren't coming in as high as I need them to at this moment. What I need to figure out is if the job interview is a sign that IM is not for me or is it a sign of me giving up on a potentially good thing(IM)?

    Your thoughts please....

That is probably the right thing to do. Keep working on IM while your doing your new job and hopefully you will be able to progress enough in IM so eventually get to where you want to be with IM income wise, then you can quite the new job.

Or you could move out of the US to somewhere where the cost of living is less, thats almost like making more $. I am gonna do that some day, I would rather live in a lot of other countries besides the US.

That does sound like a great plan as far as leaving the country. I definitely would put that in consideration due to this recession here.

I am just a lil bit bummed out that if I do get this job then its going to limit the time im going to have to keep trying and learning about making money online..

    Thanx for your input

I applaud you for trying your hand at IM marketing. It doesn't always turn out the way we want it to but at least you tried.

And I applaud you even more for doing what you gotta do in order to support yourself and your family. I know it's a hard decision but at least you'll have a regular income and probably health care. You can always give IM another chance later on, especially when the economy picks up again.

I did essentially the same thing, except i chose to try my hand at IM instead of being made redundant for my job.

Im pretty much in the same boat, i mean i enjoy IM but its just not there for me. I guess for me i need more of a routine and guranteed money. So i switched my job focus (Before i was a systems engineer, now a developer), now back to university and eventually onto a new job.

I highly recommend getting a job and then giving IM another try when you are more financially stable and have things going on already in IM. Thats what im looking at doing, going back to work for a while, getting things sorted, probably taking a full break from IM, and then slowly work on building it back up while im still working.

As mentioned, the wise thing to do would be to try and get the job...and work on IM part time..thing to remember though, is that this approach will require much more self discipline. How long have you been doing IM? Some people take years before they start seeing anything half decent.

Look at what you need to earn, then look at how you are going to do it. Devise a plan to reach your goal in IM, then work consistently according to your plan. If you want your current lifestyle bad enough (Home all day, being your own boss etc) then it will not take too long to reach your goal...especially with blackhat...

Go get your job..but DONT GIVE UP ON IM!

Good luck for your new job, man. From where I come from, IM is always a wonderful spare time income. Even in I make $500 a month, it's enough to buy my kid toys and bring the wife for good dinner every once in a while. I earn dollars but the rate is bloody expensive so I can pretty much live like a spoiled brat even though it only cost a few hundred bucks (yeah i know, one of the perks of living in third world countries).

Seriously man, take 3k a month as an example in here, you can practically pay a mortgage, finance a car, and you still can spare a big chunk for savings. Not to mention I can go out to the beach everyday.

So, that idea of living outside the US to enjoy life more is worth considering, dude. Flicking laptop working on IM under the shade just across the beach where delicious lunch can only cost you about 2 bucks... :D

DUDE!,That sounds like the life!:D I need to broaden my horizons lol. And the chances of making 3k a month without slaving for it is slim to none. Otherwise you need to have a specific trade skill or have at the least a Bachelors Degree.

Lastly, It was just an interview, They have not called me back for an official offer so...Still out here grinding;)

I was in the same situation. I decided to get a job, but the best part of this job is its for 6 months (nice season) lay off during winter and back to work in the summer. So for those 6 months im getting a guaranteed wage of unemployment, and i can hammer out IM and try things out. Also going to a third world country is the best idea, i go every winter. As a single man who doesnt drink or smoke i can live quite comfortably on 300 to 400 a month USD.

i'm living in asia. living outside us is an alternative, i think. my earning so far $500 a month and converted into my currency i got almost 2000.

i'm loving in doing IM outside US because they pay me in dollar.

extra 2000 is more than enough to me as I doing this a part time IM.
