I posted on gumtree and add for a free make up cpa offer email submit and one of the email replys was:

"HI THERE THIS IS MY GIRLFRIENDS EMAIL ADDRESS SHE NEEDS A LITTLE BIT OF CHEERING UP AS SHE IS 8 MONTHS PREGNANT AND VERY FED I YOU COULD HELP I WOULD BE EVER SO GREATFUL CHEERS TONY"

and

"hi ive just spent an hour filling in forms and im still not gettingf anywere!!! is my makeup coming??? please let me know!!!!"

I feel really bad

I also did an add for Free Alton towers tickets (theme park tickets)

They get their hopes so up "My son will love this", "My kids are dying to go to this"

This is the first time I've tried CPA via this method. Makes me feel like a con man.....this is not for me. How do you guys remove morals, or is it a dog eat dog world in business for you?

Discuss

Rather money in my pocket than someone elses.
But if you can't take the morality issues, one simple solution, don't read their emails. rofl.

You either make a bunch of money or you don't. Do you wanna be at the bottom of the food chain or the top?

You don't really remove them. I think people either have the morals going into this or they don't. Those that have morals I believe set up auto-responders and purposefully never check their inbox.

Those are really extreme examples.

Just think of it like this. That's most probably another IMer pulling your leg.
I do it all the time when I'm checking out the competition but mine are
bit more heart wrenching than those so they couldn't of been mine.

Haha, classic.

I always feel bad for the old ladies that respond... but only for about 0.3 seconds, then its back to making money.

Never read those emails, if you feel bad about it than go to white-hat

I don't think BH has anything to do with it really. It is mainly CPA in general. Freebie zip/email submits get a lot of sob stories I'm sure. I personally haven't read any replies since the very first time I started.

However, I do still get some comments on one of my WH blogs about how bad their kids want a ps3, would make their dream come true, and when it is coming, etc.

Well think of it this, they need something [what your offering], you direct them to a offer which gives them a chance to what they need, it's win-win and if they truely need it, god will make them win the contest or w/e.

This is why I don't deal with craigslist in general. Some people just don't get that things like that are ads, and that there is a catch. Now people DO get these items quite often, but quite a few people don't fulfill the requirements of the offer. That's just how it works for most offers.

Now, I still do WH CPA offers, but I don't bother with the low zip/email offers. You can pay for those to be completed on GPT sites (offer points for easy 1-page submits -- it's cheap).

Instead, I really focus on getting legit signups when good-paying education (etc) info request offers come up. Tons of these on CJ and elsewhere so if you can get the signups you're making good money with waaay less headache and heartache. If someone requests info but never gets it, they don't have a big time investment in it.

If you're really upset about it, make shit loads of cash from CPA and then buy those guys their things, or give to charity.

My take of this is simple. These people who sent you those comments and pleas are full of crap. Observe a child and you'll understand this, when they want something from you they will try to get your sympathy and rub your soft spot, but once they don't get it, watch out for the finger or getting spit at. Sounds to me it is more perceptional rather than factual problem.

B.T.W, it is not a dog eat dog world in business, that myth is for the misinformed. Business was meant to reinforce positive relationship for this world, rather there are 'some' who abuse this and made it 'seem' like that is what business is all about. It is a deep subject I don't have time to get into, but the idea is there. You'll need a lot of quite time and research to analysis the entire business process until you'll see why it can not be a dog eat dog world. Those did abused the system never end up well or ends up in prison.

This leads to BlackHat method and its relation. To me it is just sneaky methods to get legitimate things done, which is still on the legal, moral, ethical side of life.

I would feel bad if offers didn't have the terms/conditions listed. Yeah, it's a frustrating mess to have to go through buying "free" trials of other products etc. and then getting other people to do the same as your referrals to get your free gift, but really, who expects to get anything for free just by submitting their email/zip code?

That is a really good point. But few people take the time to read the T&C or read the large, bright graphics letting them know the catch.

Sparky: Some people are trying to pull at your heartstrings, but some are just dumb or not paying attention.

This is why you need to automate things up. Set up an Outlook script and hit the launch button. Btw, I agree with AlexBrooks, you didn't actually do anything wrong. You sent them to an offer page and provide them the chance to win something. As long as you're not saying it as a 100%-guarantee thingy, IMO you're good to go.

This is something that I started to struggle with as well. Until I looked into my affiliate count and saw $. Just kidding. Or maybe not. But the way I look at it is that I'm not really hurting anyone physically or emotionally. They may have a charge on their credit card that will possibly be unexpected, but sometimes people have to learn the hard way. I'll just be the one who helps to teach them.

For example, I'm running a house for rent ad on CL trying to capitalize on a credit report cpa. Now some people are just sending me their credit reports and not even blanking or marking out their SSN or birthday. If and when they realize that I was just trying to sell something, I bet they regret sending their info out. Now if I was a real thief, then I could really do some damage with that info. So, hopefully, some of the ones learn through dealing with me that they shouldn't just send people their personal info to strangers over the internet. So, if you're not literally stealing from these people over the net, I wouldn't feel so bad if I were you. Everybody's trying to sell something.

Some people are horrible lol. No morals or anything. Makes me wonder how their parents were with them. Tell them the truth, its simple. You say something like,

"Hey Tony, from what I've heard it's pretty simple to get the free makeup kit. The company providing them asks you to try some free trials, etc (which they get paid for you trying). You can simply join the free trials and then cancel a day after, and still get your makeup kit. I know they have Netflix and stuff in there, and thats a great trial I enjoy taking! Anyways, hope this helps - You"

Was that so hard? Now your not a prick, and they understand. They can choose whether to do it or not but more than likely they already entered their email for you...
