The Chiba District court in Japan ordered Google to take down world wide two negative reviews of a customer complaint. As would be expected Google objects to being censured by the courts and is considering its options. Google believes that negative reviews inform and advise consumers rather than harm a business. This would mean that Google also supports the review site of Yelp, and the harm that negative review sites do. Google's motto used to be "Do no harm." Today that motto seems to be "Anything in the name of a buck." This is the second time that Google has been ordered to take down results world wide in Japan. Canada had also ordered Google to take down results world wide.

Sigh. So to clarify, you'd rather Google have the option to just pick and choose which reviews they delete and which they'll show? You *do* realize that these sorts of things cut both ways, right? You should be glad they want to keep everything. Otherwise, we'd be saying hello to ReviewWords, where you can bid to boost certain reviews to the top of the SERPs. Oops, did I just give Google an idea?

On this point I'm on Google's side, either everything or nothing, you can't take down just a few cause you don't like them, this just means tempering with the results.

I hear you on tampering with the results. After all it is not like Google does not tamper with the results. Tampering with the results to Google's advantage and the disadvantage of competitors is the subject of an up coming Eu. lawsuit against Google. Being frank, I think Google should disallow all personal results, and they should also restrict sites like Yelp, ROR and the like.

Censoring Google results is the worst thing that ever happened to the Internet. The good, bad and ugly should be seen just like the good.

Go Google! I hope they tell japan to fuck off just like they did China.

This is good that google is not removing the reviews, if you think otherwise something is wrong.

Pretty sure they don't a F'ck. They most likely bought out the few exec's of FTC to close the US anti-trust and I'm sure the EU might be different but who's to say. It would look good on them for a 6 billion fine, but I doubt that will happen.

Unfortunately, money is power... and money makes the rules lol

This is the worst part when they try to regulate Google and everything on internet.
If Google is human,he would be sitting there in a very comfortable leather arm chair, put his feet up on the desk and would say: FU. Turns on the side and starts to read the morning newspaper with a nice cup of fresh coffee....
