What's up guys? Here I am starting my first documented journey. I've done a lot of projects over the years and they've all ended up in failure. I don't consider those failures though, I consider them learning opportunities.

    What's the plan?
Currently I'm hyper focusing on one single project. It's a Shopify website and I'm not drop shipping. I partnered up with someone and we create the products ourselves. This project is going to include everything. SEO, social, PPC, email, and any other form of marketing. Don't put your eggs in one basket, diversify your traffic (learned that the hard way).

    Current Stats
Starting this month, we're in our second month. April was a month of setting up. We had a few sales during the month but it was mostly setting up the ground work. The ground work included website, social media pages, branding, and finding our target market / demographic. We're about 80% of the way there, but that's all you really need to get started on a project. The remaining 20% will be done this month and then it's all marketing from there.

    Aprils Analytics

Bounce rate was high at first but it's lowering every day. May is averaging around 30% bounce rate and it will get better as time progresses.

    Emails
We started collecting emails last week and here's a snapshot of what we have so far.

As you can see, we have a horrible open rate at the moment. Email game definitely needs to be revisited. We did manage to get one sale from a campaign though.

    Social Media
Our focus on social media is currently FaceBook. I have a page set up and it's growing right now through ads. Trying to increase the amount of likes to increase the engagement on the posts. Nothing mind bending here. We have posts for the entire month set and will share occasional posts to the shopify website.

    FaceBook Ads
This is something I'm not familiar with and am learning as I go. I've never touched PPC before but I'm definitely not going to pass up the chance to learn it. Budget is about $500 / month and I just created my ads for May. Will see how it preforms and adjust weekly based on the data the pixel collects.

    SEO
This is late game into the project. With the website being 1 month old, I won't be seeing any benefits for at least 6 months. I have optimized the website for on-page and have already started building links manually on relevant websites.

    Earnings
    [IMG]

Let's be honest, this is what most of you guys are looking for in these journeys.

On to of that we have had $30 from Etsy and $12.61 from YouTube ads. This means that Aprils total earning was $261.16

    Final Thoughts

With April said and gone, the goal for May is to first beat Aprils earnings. That's #1 on my list. The rest are the following:
    • Grow email list and set up 7 day welcome campaign
    • Get FaceBook page to 10k likes and start targeting my real demographic
    • Get sales from FaceBook Ads (willing to break the bank first and tweak for profit later)
    • Hit 2k+ views on the website
    • Get an office for the business
See you guys around! Will be updating daily to keep you guys posts on the situation

I forgot to mention that I will be doing outreach to relevant people in my niche. This includes bloggers, Instagram, Facebook pages, YouTube, authority websites, you name it! The goal is to build relationships and ultimately convert their followers to fans of my brand and purchase our products. :)

    Update May 1 - May 3

    Analytics
    [IMG]

That's how my analytics looked for those 3 days. Getting traffic but it's not converting and it's not a lot of traffic anyways. Still have a long way to go. I think I'll have to be hitting at least 1k visitors a day to see sales.

    Email
    [IMG]
The email list has grown at least. I know that people are signing up for emails but they're not using the discount code. This either means they're only here for the content, they don't like the available products, or both. Will do another email blast today or tomorrow to see the open rate will increase and keep the brand in their mind.

    FaceBook Ads
I need to seriously refresh myself on this. The bounce rate is notorious.. 100%? Shieet.. I had 15 clicks at $0.90 each. That would have been some seriously nice ROI. The ad had a 2.56% CTR too. I'm missing something, I just don't know what it is yet..
So I've created a new campaign and started it targeting DESKTOP only. For today I'm going to be hitting every kind of desktop user. Once the day is done, I'll get doing through the breakdown and seeing which platform did the best and optimizing for it.
