I've sold over $100,000 in Flippa and am happy to answer questions

I know I'm new here, but I'm not selling anything! :)

I have genuinely sold over $100K worth of sites in Flippa. I won't give you my username there or tell you what sites I've sold. I'll let my answers demonstrate my experience. If anyone has any questions about flipping or selling on Flippa that I can help with, please go ahead and I'll do my best to answer.

The obvious question will probably be how to make lots of money. There is no quick answer to that. Sell sites that people want. Build sites that have some value and are generating healthy revenue (How? That's not a question for this thread but a "make money" thread). Once you've got a site making a decent profit, spend some time to draw up a professional looking description before listing in Flippa. Then try and get your Flippa auction some publicity elsewhere. Answer questions promptly and treat buyers with respect (some of them may end up making multiple purchases from you).

Would you recommend creating and selling a lot of small inexpensive sites or focus time and energy on building up a few large ones?

Do established sites that already have traffic and stats sell quicker than turnkey 'just add traffic' type of sites?

I would recommend few large sites rather than several small ones because that's what worked for me.

However, that said, there seems to currently be a very active trade in the turnkey sites. This area is populated by career sellers who are very competitive - they tested various sales pitches, offer a lot of add-on services (some of which they've automated) and marry their turnkeys to other hand-holding services they provide to new buyers. I wouldn't last long in that arena. If I had to do it all again I'd continue with building sites up, demonstrating profit and selling on the argument of "established site" rather than "site you can establish yourself".

I guess the professional looking description is key.
I have a site generating $600/month and can't get 50 bucks for it...

Post your current description if you want and I'll come up with suggestions for where it could be tweaked. On a site that's making a net profit of $600 / month you should have bids in the thousands at least.

I average around 7-12k a month on Flippa myself. I would be willing to answer questions if lots of questions start rolling through.

Making assumptions about the revenue (ie not much) you could probably get 500 bucks on Flippa or so

For sites built on the wordpress platform and that include paid plug-ins. Does the seller need to take that into account in pricing or offer? as in, would I need to transfer the ownership of the plugin (key or license or whatever) to the buyer or make the buyer buy their own copy of the plugin, or turn a blind eye to that issue altogether?

Good question, I would also like to know this and add my own question.
Are Wordpress sites considered of lesser value than a different platform? I would expect that due to ease of use that WP sites are quite popular, but what about perceived value, are they considered the lower end? And if so... what would you consider to be the top end?

I'm intrested in this aswell. Have your buyers made good profits? Have many failed profiting from the sites? How fast do they earn back what they've spent? Don't you wish you'd kept some sites and earned the double in time?

Well how much does it make per month? Then I can give a more accurate valuation. All I have to go on at the moment is a PR4 domain with 500 uv's a month...

Right smartass, before you make clever comments, read WHAT YOU WROTE FIRST. That is what I am basing my judgement on. Fair enough you made a typo, but don't make me sound like an idiot...

Okay, so averaging out your revenue, I'll call it $250 per month. Organic and returning traffic I'm assuming? You could probably get $2k then.

I would advise you put a nice theme on it, buyers on Flippa are fickle and generally a nice design, page rank and organic traffic adds more value than the concept behind it...

You could probably blag 4k then ;)
