Hey guys,

Lately I've been receiving more than 10 visits that have many things in common:

  • USA IP address
  • The resolution of the device is the same 1440 x 900
  • The browser is unknown and it's always from Linux
  • It only visits the homepage.

Is it bot traffic? Can it hurt my rankings or something? What can I do about it?

When I check the traffic source it tells me that's it's direct traffic. But it's not normal because they have many things in common..

Could be a bot, shouldn't be a concern though, it can't hurt ratings, most they could do is crawl your site for data gathering i guess. There's others that do this so you visit their site in return, it's automatic and they never actually visited yours, just a way to get your attention.

Yes, it is a bot from Amazon Cloud Service. It should not causing any issue if the traffics is 10 visits per day. If it is hitting you 10 times per second, then it might be DDoS.

You can find more information the IP address here https://www.ip2location.com/demo/52.53.169.189

It might just a crawl bot , maybe from search engines, DDos amount would be more than 10
