I've been gone... I need a little mentoring.

Long story short, I was into this internet marketing thing awhile back. I sold my domains when I realized I was "going away for a little while". I'm now back into society again and am ready to get back into action again. Unfortunately, I work a part time job so I can get money in order again. I have a little bit of money to invest. When I say a little bit, I'm meaning a few hundred.

I just basically need someone to mentor me through some things on what has changed since 2010. I was reading website magazine the whole time I was gone. Basically, I just need to be refreshed really. I know wordpress, domains, backlinks, etc. I know new things came out though, I was gone during the Google + era. etc. Social bookmarking doesnt seem to be as popular as it use to be. Facebook has changed A LOT. Basically just needing a refresher and a nice little push start. Possibly even a joint venture type deal. I can barely explain what I still know and etc. I feel like I'm trying to overload way too fast. Ive been reading threads and stuff but sometimes ask myself, "What is this?". Then I google it and get lost into my own little world.

I'm not down with 100% blackhat, but I am definitely trick friendly. These are things website magazine wasn't fulfilling me on, plus it was just really broad when it explained things. For example, SEO and the new Google algorithms.

I'm not expecting to make thousands a day, but at my peak I was making $400 a day. Which was extremely reasonable for me! My goal is to get like that again by the end of this year with hard work and learning new softwares/progs. I have to figure out some new niches and get to know some website designers as well. Which shouldn't be hard because I can just pay for them. I'm not that great of a website designer but have blueprinted some projects when I was away.

If I posted this in the wrong section, moderators, please move it to the proper section. If anyone could help me out, veterans or professionals. It would be very appreciated. Thanks guys. Just send me a message on here.

I'm just going to bump this. Ive been reading A LOT since I made this thread again. More into learning about SEO. Is there any good software to examine a website to get keywords from... well besides google obviously. Then being able to compare the keywords. I had a website not to long ago that used SEOmoz I do believe, it ranked the competition accordingly but being dumb and burnt out. I lost the link.

Mainly looking for a good SEO tutor. Ive read quite a bit but do have some unfilled questions that the search function in the boards hasnt really answered or is completely saturated with possibly outdated stuff. Also, been just thinking about outsourcing the SEO stuff. Just really looking for someone with a lot of good Internet marketing experience making $100+ a day. Thanks

I would just say keep reading around and if you have questions reply to threads or pm the OP. I am intermediate SEO wise, so answers from me won't always be your best bet. But as I was saying, read read and read! I have gained so much more insight just by reading and asking questions rather than asking people to "mentor" me. Best of luck to your future!
