I've been approached by a marketing company offering to manage my adwords

    So heres the story.

I have a small business I'm working on which has a pretty comfortable niche (its not huge, but I think I can dominate it), the product I deal with however google isn't too keen on. Its perfectly legal and above board, but for a couple of reasons I can't go in to google don't like it and therefore won't let me advertise via adwords.

The other week I was approached out of the blue by a web marketing company (I checked them out, they seem reasonably large/legit) offering me some cpc marketing, saying they could manage my adwords accounts etc as they were an adwords qualified company. I figured it couldn't hurt to let them try (to be honest I thought they'd try, fail and I'd never hear from them again), low and behold they call me back today with a campaign on google adwords thats live and running.

They seem fairly keen to work with me, despite my small size, and I'm pretty impressed they got me on adwords (talked about setting me up on msn and yahoo etc) so my question is do I stick with them? Obviously I'm all for cutting out the middle man, and I keep asking myself whats in it for them (could anybody explain quite how they work? like will I pay a higher cpc working with them than going direct to google? or do they just charge me the "normal" cpc I would pay, and then keep the difference because google offers them a better rate?).

I mean the fact they've got me on adwords is pretty valuable, but it begs the question of whether I'd be able to get myself on there? Or is the fact they're an "adwords qualified company" invaluable here?

    Thoughts etc would be appreciated.

PS - One interesting thing they did mention is that if I do work with them they will refuse to work with any other company in my niche, which would be super handy.

Most of them people just post adwords ads the way everyone else does and charges you twice the amount

See I've tried running my own campaigns but they keep getting rejected, I might have another pop at it and see how it goes. See what happens if word for word I match their advert.

Righto, just set up a campaign that is pretty much word for word what they have (I swapped 2 of the words around though so I can tell mine from theirs), and targets 2 of the same keywords they do. Lets see what happens.

Absolute BS. You know how many companies I have been contacted by offering me the ONLY position for my niche on adwords. And yes there all adwords qualified (my cat is adwords qualified btw).

If they can get the add up there then so can you. The worst is when they guarantee you top adwords position for a LOCALIZED niche. They charge you £99 a month and you get about £1 worth of clicks. Sweet deal eh...

Most of these companies are fairly large, but staff only last a few days with them as they always lure them in with promises of big commission. Try copying there ad and see if it gets approved.

Edit # I see you just did that, it'll be interesting to see what happens...

The first thing I would ask myself is did I make any money from their efforts,. No point getting accepted and paying If it not delivering sales.

If they are making you money ,why not give them a small amount, Nothing stopping you from learning, what they are doing and doing it yourself on a larger scale.

There is a book somewhere on this forum about how to keep your adwords accounts clean and viable.
Cant remember the name, but you should be able to find it with a bit of searching.
