So heres the story. I have a small business I'm working on which has a pretty comfortable niche (its not huge, but I think I can dominate it), the product I deal with however google isn't too keen on. Its perfectly legal and above board, but for a couple of reasons I can't go in to google don't like it and therefore won't let me advertise via adwords. The other week I was approached out of the blue by a web marketing company (I checked them out, they seem reasonably large/legit) offering me some cpc marketing, saying they could manage my adwords accounts etc as they were an adwords qualified company. I figured it couldn't hurt to let them try (to be honest I thought they'd try, fail and I'd never hear from them again), low and behold they call me back today with a campaign on google adwords thats live and running. They seem fairly keen to work with me, despite my small size, and I'm pretty impressed they got me on adwords (talked about setting me up on msn and yahoo etc) so my question is do I stick with them? Obviously I'm all for cutting out the middle man, and I keep asking myself whats in it for them (could anybody explain quite how they work? like will I pay a higher cpc working with them than going direct to google? or do they just charge me the "normal" cpc I would pay, and then keep the difference because google offers them a better rate?). I mean the fact they've got me on adwords is pretty valuable, but it begs the question of whether I'd be able to get myself on there? Or is the fact they're an "adwords qualified company" invaluable here? Thoughts etc would be appreciated. PS - One interesting thing they did mention is that if I do work with them they will refuse to work with any other company in my niche, which would be super handy.
