Netflix's content strategy is a scattershot approach, they mass produce mediocre content and hope something hits. Quantity > quality because they can't be in a position where there's no new content for users to watch.
Yep. They're not interested in viewer numbers in the same way TV stations traditionally are. They're taking into account segments watched and shared on social media and so on. They have a weird business model but I guess it works for them.
 
Let me recommend you something good on Netflix:
- Ozark
- Caliphate
- Glow
 
I got amazon prime video too now. For very cheap I had a 5$ amazon coupon + a few more dollars for whole year. It has better range of movies then Netflix.
Both keep me entertained. You need both.
