this thread is somewhat fizzled but I'll throw in my observations anyway.
first off I also operate a toy unboxing channel.
And just let me say this ... the "toy niche" is drastically different than anything else on YouTube and... mysteriously so.
YouTube and all of its video guru's preach about "engagement".
You have to engage viewers in your comments and you have to engage social media.
Download VidIQ and check out what the powerhouse channels are doing.
VidIQ is free and you can see other channels tags and social media activity .
You will see giant channels with .....
ZERO links to Google +
ZERO links to Twitter,
ZERO links to facebook,
ZERO links to Reddit, and
ZERO links to Instagram
......but.....HOW?
Which contradicts everything the guru's advise for success.
So, social media doesn't mean shit in the toy unboxing niche.
Buying HITS is a foolish joke. No child looks at a video and says "ooh this one has 1,575,000 views".
For them it's all about the thumbnail and subject matter.
Next, major channels totally DISABLE their comments !
ZERO engagement with all viewers. NONE.
YOUTUBE suicide for any other niche. But,,,,, NOT in the toy niche.
Next, check out this backlink checker:
https://ahrefs.com/ on some toy competition.
I have read that YouTube SEO is the opposite of Google and penalizes you for backlinks because they are bought and fabricated and, do not represent a genuine, authentic interest in the video.
Yet, EvanTubeHD acquires 100's of thousands of backlinks every month.
They're a backlink production machine.
And that channel is huge and operating without penalty.
Another mystery in the toy niche.
I have seen channels with 20 million subscribers and 1.5 to 2 BILLION views.
and they ARE ALL nursery preschool channels.
I have also seen new channels skyrocket to 800,000 and 1 million subscribers in a matter of 4 to 8 months.
Like you, I crunched the numbers and realized it was financial insanity.
But we assume the owners of those channels are just like us.
When in fact the channel could be
operated by a corporation.
Think about it.
A business that makes 5 to 15 million dollars a year with no building to maintain, no mortgage, no employees, no benefits to payout, no insurance, no property tax and, no law suits. Yes there are a lot of corporations working on you tube.
I've researched you tube for a year.
I have seen mentions of an unknown software or Bot that can make all of your dreams come true with views, subs, likes, unlikes, and comments. You own it and operate it yourself and, 800,000 Subscribers is no problem and next to free.
That's what might be happening.
Russians tend to be gifted in this area, while Americans (like me) refuse to believe such a thing could exist. But then I have seen an explosion of Russian toy unboxing channels making
ugly ass videos with astounding numbers of views and subs.
Social media does not matter.
Engagement does not matter.
Comments and Replies do not matter.
Descriptions do not matter.
I see thousands of them with ten words and less.
Buying views & subs does not matter and could cause you to lose all of your hard work with a mouse click by YouTube.
I would also like to take a look at your channel.
I suspect you are trying to hard and your channel is too polished for small kids who
like bright colors, plain backgrounds, simple images, simple music, nursery rhymes, surprise eggs, and finger puppets.
I also have a working theory that you need to market to the moms. But where.... a blog or a forum?
And that's only a start.
You still have to get your videos to the top and on that right hand column.
I have a theory on that....... which will remain my mystery.
just noticed your headline:
"1 year and 352 videos later".
You've been making 1 video per day ? I would really like to see just one video now.
Almost all decent youtubers spend half a day just editing what they shot. So...
I'm really curious to see what you have been uploading.
