    Interesting read.
The admins would be wise to rid this forum of the member downloads section and re-focus the forum on BH methods.
    just my .02 cents

What ISP laws are you referring to specifically?

If you clicked on the link in the first post you'll see cases successfully prosecuted in the U.S.

If you read the articles linked to in that article you will see that this isn't the target for their operations, being small time and all. The other people had 20,000 titles.

Plus, if you read the forum rules you will see the list of banned software titles, note that the list contains SW from the big corps, and thus, not worth the time and effort. They want to scare places like this with the big cases of huge libraries of well known titles, and you fell for it. Looks like they have a pretty good IM scheme going though.

Now, if you are done comparing apples and pomegranates read the stickies, FAQs, and rules before making such wild comparisons and assumptions.

I heard it doesn't matter whether you host the file or not, if you have a hyperlink to the actual file you're in the line of fire too. I wonder if that holds true for obfuscated links since you can't click on them and thus find a way to the file.

Or, if you're the one who posted a thread or the forum who hosted an obfuscated link - knowing that everyone will decode and find the file anyway. And there's tools and instructions provided to code and decode your sharing links.

Damn, this stuff always confused me :) I'll keep goin' till they come a knockin' on my door...or yours, lol. Don't think they'd waste their time though unless your door is lined with gold.
