Italian Domains

I've identified a couple of Italian domains that I would like to buy however the registration process is putting me off.

First of all I need to enter my national insurance number then I need to do some sort of fax confirmation process. Judging by the pain I am having with registering I am also conscerned that there are going to be similar crazy rules about what I can put on there selling/transfer rights etc.

Does anyone have any experience of this, is there somewhere I can register easily? Are there any mad rules I need to be aware of?

Not italian but the domains work well with a couple of ideas I have, the "it" works well - for example youu could have the domain "sell.it" etc.

I am Italian as well. I never purchased any Italian Domains but I dealt with an Italian Company for domain & hosting. It was a huge headache...I am glad things in US are so simple when it comes to domains.
