Hi, my name is Mark.
I am 19 years old and I live in a small town in Italy, where economy is on extremely low levels.
I had always been a computer geek, finding many ways of earning some pocket-money online.
As I grew up I've understood that learning to program could be very useful to me. It was indeed:
I've developed anything from small to big projects, from websites and softwares to mobile applications.
I can tell that by now my programming skills are sufficiently high to develop anything that doesn't regard NASA stuff (I am not a nerd).
In the past I've tried black hat stuff, like porn re-uploading or promoting cams on twitter. I've even made a bot that would post on my twitter account stuff every day, picking preloaded texts and cam preview images from my domain parked website (or was it domain parked? I don't remember, I only remember that the cams were supplied by AWEmpire). It just didn't work. $0 income!

Now I find myself in a horrible situation. I am a bit depressed (cause of failure in making money), worried (for my future) and firm. I've currently finished all my projects and left with no money, and I am wondering if my best hope is you, community.

I don't even know where to start from, I just know that I'd do anything that works. No, it's not a "method pls", but just asking for start point that could lead me to earning decent amount of money online.

if your skills are efficient then make some new tools for internet marketers and earn money by selling otherwise come in marketing field and do by enrich your products

Hi Mark, If your half decent coder you can make money. Your 19 there is no rush. I suspect any money you made before you just burnt on stupid things and have nothing to show for it - because your young and we all been there.

That could be interesting, I would also be pleased to work in a team.

I am just a realist and I know for sure that I don't want to end up as a prey of society like 99% of people. This explains my rush... The sooner, the better IMO. Just to make sure it's not too late.

Tell us what you have tried so far

Edited and added!

So the money you made from projects before ... Where has that gone?

They were "occasional" projects and getting these projects happened as few friends needed getting stuff programmed and asked to me. It's not a stable base, and it won't work for the future.

Sounds like your projects didn't really offer any value to anyone. I was in a similar situation a few years ago, I could code anything but I just kept making spammy stuff. I made a bit but I make much more now I'm building things that people actually find useful and won't suddenly disappear over night.

Looks like you learn't the hard way. Don't work for free.

IF you did get paid I assume you either got paid way too little and you spent the money OR you spent the money.

IF you can can code id get registered on all the job boards online and start bidding for work. If your half decent there is money to be made as a developer as you get better at coding you will find work will come to you.

Hey, I understand your difficulties. But everything starts with our mind. You need to first recover from your illness. Then look for a method and devote to it, you will fail and fail and fail, but Be sure that everything will work out in the end and you will not even remember that it has already failed.

Analyze your mistakes. What ate your profits? What cost you?

What can be improved? Is the Italian economy bad? How about exporting your work?

Can you cut costs somewhere? Can you increase revenue somewhere?

You're 19, you're young and the only thing you need when you're 19 is to learn, learn, learn and not repeat mistakes.

Success is about persistence and not repeating mistakes. Every mistake is a lesson. At some point you'll stop making mistakes and make tons of $.

You should not be depressed dude.

You're young entrepreneur.

Relax. Take a deep breath & definitely don't give up.

You've gotta learn to lose to know how to win.

Maybe code a bot for some of us.

-Many of us would pay good money for a quora bot.
-You could get into affiliate marketing especially that you know how to code websites.
-Get on fiverr and upwork and advertise your coding skills see if anyone is willing you pay for your skills.

There is really a ton of ways to make money online, pick a method learn how to do it and stick to it.

I don't think most people can personally relate to the situation the OP finds himself in.

Two words, southern italy, and I can already perfectly see the opportunities the OP has. Italy has gone massively down the drain over the past 20 years, and the south has been heavily affected. It has certainly been a slowly and gradual decline. Is not UK, USA, Australia, Canada where the wage regulations and their taxes are a lot lower. Man, seriously the amount of taxes these young guys have to pay and the lack of finding a legit job that won't under pay you, or worst not pay you, makes me see why so many are still mamoni.

There is a heavy reason why Italy is the second country with the third-age population. They seriously have a lot of older folks getting a nice pension, while the young people can barely survive finding jobs that pay less than what a pension is paying.

It's a reason why many of the young people living in Italy are living their paesi, because of the lack of jobs, and not because they don't love their villages. They absolutely love and have a huge deep connection to where they were born and the people they grew up with, especially in the South of Italy. They call each other by names for decades, and they are always thinking of building their own house, as in buy the materials and some labor and build a house. Not buy a premade one. I find the southern italians to always be in great mood when they have their summer festives, lots of music, sausages, lamb, music, and shows these little towns do to attract people to their towns.

join freelancer site and start bidding some projects ...

take a look at famous, trending and new social media then think what automation tools that people need and if it is possible to build that and search for same tools that already being made and create something better .. you can sell this or if it is online website you can put ads etc

If you skill is so great, you could make some tool for marketing, such as amazon product date or facebook ads. Just an suggestion, I am in Shenzhen, China. There are plenty of seller in amazon/facebook, great product. But they don't know how to market them

I am really glad that someone managed to understand the reality of Southern Italy. We are indeed paesani, "terroni" the northern use to call us (it is actually referred to whom is attached to its lands). Moving away is pretty hard, we live in a pretty closed, introverse society. And the government is draining our pockets literally, just imagine my situation where since I don't have a VAT account I used to ask a friend of mine (owner of a Ltd - like company ) to do the billing for my clients, and 31 percent of the bills were taxes.

As for those who suggested me to join fiverr or freelancer:
I did, I only managed to get two projects or so, the problem is that I just can't be arsed to keep bidding on projects, I am more like a back office guy doing its job without exposing to the market, not the suitcase-dude looking around every corner for people to buy my product. I hope you all get the idea of my Persona.

Sorry man as you admitted the problem is you can't be arsed. If it was easy everyone would be doing it. Nothing is going to be easy. Everything takes time to set up and get established. When I started freelancing it took me 3 years to get established and another 2 before work finally came to me, I sold up after 18 years.

The tax thing while I understand. Everyone has an excuse to why they are hard up or having trouble moving forward.

I set up shop in a town where 70% of people are out of work the ones who had money didn't want to spend it. I had to look and gain work further afield.

Like I said everyone has an excuse it's down to you to dwell or thrive.

As I said your 19 there's no rush, if you want to be successful put the time in now and be patient - things will happen. It just takes time.
