I am planning the purchase of my second domain, I already have a name picked out that is available. I'm looking for feedback from anyone who has had experience with video/movie blogs or just blogs in general.

I am debating on whether to try and create a site that provides all different types of video clips such as youtube music videos and viral videos.. Or to make a site that has full-length movies (new releases and old) with some form of cpa to monetize the site.

I am a newbie so all advice/criticism is welcome, what do you think?

Now this is an assumption: since you're buying your 2nd domain you're not that long in the business.

Stay away from full length movies.
99% Of these are copyrighted and having them on your site can get you into legal trouble. Even linking or embedding.
When working with this kind of content you need to cover your back and this will ask for some investment.

With regular vids (not only from YT) you can make a niche specific site.
Offering vids from different sites in one place on a specific topic adds enough value to act as a incentive.

Hey thanks for the reply, has been really helpful. I was afraid of copyright issues with the full-length movie idea. I think I am going to think of a more niche-specific domain name and come up with a more long-tailed video site like you mentioned.

Now to find a good niche with low enough competition to play ball :p
    thanks for feedback

This is a nice inexpensive plugin to build niche specific video blogs. It pulls vids from a multitude of sites.
(might even be around here on BHW somewhere to test it out)

    Code:
    http://www.phpmyvideoblog.com/
A little tip: edit the titles to make them more unique but leave the keywords.
This will help in ranking and looks better in the SERPS among multiple pages with the same title.
With a videopost most of the time the title is the only thing you can work on as far as uniqueness.

I do agree that it may be best to start with a niche specific video sites. No use trying to compete with youtube, etc.. I know thats not want you meant, but still...
