    Hi

I have a question regarding backlinking.

Ive done some reading, and what i have concluded is,

wouldnt it more beneficial to search engine rankings to manually create 200 high PR do follow backlinks than use software such as ie xrumer senuke to blast thousands of normal and low pr ranked blogs...?

As the former would have a higher quality of backlinks thus giving your site a higher authority and a better ranking or am i missing something????

Also it is advisable to blast a few hundred high PR do follow blogs with your backlink or is this better done by hand...any help will be very very much appreciated.....

    Thankyou

Yes, higher PR links are better than links directed from lower PR.

But to get 200 genuine links from (very) high sites like pr 7-9, you'd have to pay lots of $$$. However using services like xrumer which are considerably cheaper you can get links between PR0-PR5 (yes, PR 5 sometimes if you know how to do it) which will help increase your PR.

Of course "by hand" submissions are %1,000 better than spammy submissions however it is much slower (and more expensive to outsource). "By hand" submissions have a higher rate of approval and your site has a lower chance of being penalized by google.

    Hope this helps :)

It boils down to effort vs reward.

There is some strong evidence that high quality, d0follow, contextually relevant links on authority, trusted sites with great anchor text are very powerful, and can count for dozens / hundreds / thousands of spammy links.

However, they are few and far between, time / money expensive and difficult to get.

It's all about PROFIT, not flexing your e-penis and ranking for highly volatile, high competition, high traffic keywords.

On one hand, I could rank for a prime two word keyphrase with hours and hours of manual high PR backlinking, buying links, doing guest posts on high PR blogs etc.

Or, I could use a script to crank out thousands of doorway pages or spun blog posts targeting a multitude long tail keyphrases, blast them with SB / Xrumer etc, get the same equivalent amount of traffic and make the same amount of profit in 1/10th the time.

Then I can spend the rest of my day smoking buckets, drinking whiskey and playing Bad Company 2. I know which option I'd choose. :D

It is all about ROI on your time and money. Are backlinks from High PR low OBL pages better than other backlinks? Of course they are but as noted they take either a lot of time or money to get. I can set xrumer or scrapebox going on a vps and get thousands of backlinks a day with very time or money invested on my part letting me to spend time doing other activities (such as building up my network of high pr sites to put my links on), that way I get both.

As @Autumn is saying. It's a matter of how you optimize your own time.

So you need to consider if it's worth making all your links by hand. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but it really depends how much time you use to place one link.

Another thing is that automated linkbuilding often is used to increased the strength of web 2.0 properties etc.

This is just another thread that if you rephrase the question it answers it self "It is more beneficial to have 200 high PR do follow backlinks than thousands that arent."

So blasting high PR blogs using automated software is a huge no-no?. As i would have seen that as a way of cutting down on time and having good backlinks...?

If you're going to be blasting anything, you're better off blasting high PR d0follow blogs than shitty ones. However, I wouldn't generally classify spammy comment links in the bracket of super high quality links that you're probably hoping for.

Possibly, well written manual comments on the really big blogs might classify as a high quality link. However, really high quality links would be stuff like contextual links with good anchor text inside relevant blog posts (not in the comments) or non-reciprocal paid links in prominent places on a site.

The very best links you can get are those from sites that are already ranking in the serps you want to rank in yourself. It all comes back to that effort vs reward thing again.
