I mean why would a normal site hide from ahref? Can't google just check who is hidding from these crawlers and block them? Also using hostings that are made for pbn? Can't google just check the IP's of that hosting and block all website that are using it?

It's very difficult to determine that a site is not on ahrefs but IS on Google's index for billions of sites. It's easy on a manual review, but not in large scale. That would imply Google is checking ahrefs api for sites that are not there but are on Google's index.

    Possible, but not likely IMO.

I agree 110%. On a manual review it'd be detectable but otherwise it's nothing to worry about (in my opinion).

Yeah cheap/thin sites clustered on only a few SEO hosts is a solid way to ruin weeks of hard work. But, a single site on such a host is not going to be blocked. That would be overly tyrannical.

Blocking ahrefs in and of itself is not going to unnaturally boost a site's ranking, so G won't penalize a site just for that. It may encourage a manual reviewer to probe more deeply. If the SEO was cutting a lot of corners, they may get boned.

Both things you mentioned might be flags, but they are not as severe as just blasting a sight with a bunch of cheap fiverr links.
