    Hey guys,

So....we all know the importance of unplugging and unwinding several times a year and the effect it has on our mental and physical well being. Alot of us mean to do it....if your like me many of you do not do it.

What do some of you guys do to unplug and unwind when its a couple day period of time of solitude where you have no distractions and time to think?

I am thinking of renting a cabin with nothing but the basics....no internet, basic lighting and a wood stove and just unplug for 4-5 days....many of us never take time to do this and I feel its about time I did bite the bullet! I am always in DO mode I never stop to ponder much and recharge...

What do you guys like to do for this when its a couple days at a time?

I have been meaning todo this to. Going to stay somewhere in the bush by myself, only with a tent.

Whenever I'm left alone and have more than a few day to myself, I take a melatonin pill, put in ear plugs, and go to sleep on my real sleep schedule to help myself get back to a routine I like (as I'm at my happiest when I do the same thing every day).

I like the "back-to-the-basics" escape idea that you plan to do, although I would imagine I would go berserk if I tried that; I can get away from technology without an issue, but doing something different always stresses me out. :D

I need to unplug. I'm losing my mind.

I'm so focused on growing my personal brand on youtube, insta and social it's beginning to drive me insane being honest and because it's taking so long while I see others out there doing better with bad photos and huge followings.

Anyways I took a walk today but it feels weird. I guess I need to get out more and stop thinking about my phone and just enjoy the time around me.

I've got a lot in life but I don't realise it.

Need to unplug more and enjoy life.

It's not a bad idea what you have planned, do it if it feels right! We all need time away from the Technology to help our bodies recover from Stress & the lighting of our computers etc. You can achieve this same state of mind and stress free sensations with Meditation. But for some it may be hard to do it for hours straight without building up to it. I've felt the intense relaxation and state of oneness with everything that absolutely blows your mind.

I must admit i love the idea of a nice cabin with quietness and nothing to distract you from your goal. If you do take some days to unwind i hope you get recharged fully, we all need it more than we think.

    Cheers

Get into some distance exercise. If I want to clear the head, think straight and make decisions then I go running for an hour.

I love jogging. Earphones + jogging in a nice setting = gold for me.

Your cabin idea sounds great too. Except for me the cabin brought back memories of Breaking Bad so I guess that show ruined the peaceful cabin in the woods thing for me.

I'm planning to unplug every summer. At least do it once a year. Might as well go full out. I'd like to go to Burning Man Festival next year, and invest in a lovely 1969 VW camper. 4-6 weeks in the Colorado part of the rocky mountains before Burning Man though, with nothing but the most trusted and loved people I know, a few bags full of the good ol' therapeutic kush, xtc and psychs, our own instruments, and a lot of pillows and blankets. While still in the working environment though, I've been kind of slacking on this for the past few months but I've started the routine back up again. Meditation for 10-15 minutes after waking out of bed helps a lot. Music helps open the soul while working after school. Anything works, but I love to include Classical. Always puts me into the relaxed mode. Visiting either a Hare Krishna temple for ceremonies, or a Zen Buddhist center once a week helps remind me to love myself. Love is the most important aspect there is. You can't love others, your company, your work, your future goals of empire and wanting to become a billionaire, etc. if you don't love yourself. I'm dying to try out Yoga soon. A few hours at the gym on a daily basis helps ya function.

There needs to be balance. If you're working till the point of exhaustion, you shall fail. If you're relaxing too much, you shall fail.

Running is great feeling when your fit, but though when unfit. Try walking first, then speed waking, it will increase fitness ready for running.

But yes, I like to just run I with some good tracks on in earphones

I like to get away from it all when I can but usually around a sport and other people with the same purpose, I get too bored alone and I spend too much time having to read while alone so I welcome the atmosphere of more people! certainly nice to disconnect though. online clutter can get a bit full on

Generally I go away with my musical instruments, equipment and stay by the beach. Waves and music and silence. It works for me.

I don't think I've ever actually unplugged. When I want to relax I turn everything off and either take a nap or go out into the world. It only takes me about a day or two, then I'm ready to get back to it. When I travel, that's when I don't worry about work, but I'm not really unplugged. I still have my cell phone, laptop and tablet. I just don't check work related things.

I would never seclude myself out in the woods. The thought terrifies me. But to each their own.

People who feel the need to unplug need to go outside and talk to people. Buncha antisocial weirdos sitting in solitude behind a screen is not healthy.

Or just get a wank and spank in and go back to work.
