Given that views are being patched, I'm now looking for alternative ways to get traffic other than ranking.

I haven't used Tube Toolbox for a long time but is it still a good way to grow your channel? I would think it would have to have adapted to Google + to be stay modern.

Eh, software wise? It's been shaky for the last year with the updates, banning and the support is a little meh.

You can still use the same concepts though. e.g. Scrape a legit video's comment list for usernames and share to video to them.

Or just go legit and get to know someone with a bigger channel than you and collab with them. "Network".

Leno has the idea. I never got why people wouldn't try reaching out to mmedium sized channels and offering some compensation for promo. Obviously don't approach raywilliamjohnson or guys like that.

Yeah JV's are Catch 22. If you were a medium size channel would you want to team with a small channel? I wouldn't. What collaboration or compensation did you have in mind to approach them with?

As for Tube Toolbox, I see potential if it was updated to accommodate the Google+ aspect (I don't know if it is or not), because non G+ private messages go to their inbox without getting a notification.

I used tube toolbox for a few years and things have really gone downhill ever since the new youtube updates. It's not as effective anymore for generating views, because the users are never getting notified for messages/video shares. I use to make thousands of views using tube toolbox, but now the results are horrible. You will also receive a decent amount of hate messages and comments. I always just ignore those. I would focus more on ranking videos. I'm not saying tube toolbox is awful, but the recent updates have made it less efficient than it use to be. The ban rates are also a lot higher than before which can be a pain. If you use tube toolbox use drone accounts with private proxies. Do not risk your main account with tube toolbox. I wish you success.
