Hi all, thanks for stopping by my thread. Just had a question...I have been working with MAXBounty lately, and I am new to the CPA game, but my earnings have been pretty decent, more than I expected at least. I just want some idea on whether or not what I'm doing is actually white hat, grey hat or black hat? And should I get worried about not being paid? To give an example of what I'm doing...I am using CraigsList. But I am not lying to people or being disohonorable. As an example, let's say I'm posting ads in the Services section offering a legitimate service. Replies to the ads are done by an autoresponder that includes the persons firstname in the message body with a FIRST_NAME token. The response explains a bit about the service and gives a link to my CPA offer...Double Meta Refreshed of course. So, I realize CL isn't exactly the best in the eyes of Affiliate Programs...but if the traffic is somewhat legitimate, then they should be pretty happy, correct? Also, the offer guidelines say nothing about not being able to promote on CL, while others mention that it is not allowed. Thoughts? Insight? Comments? All are appreciated. Thanks in advance.
It would probably depend on the ad copy. Seems like most CPA networks frown upon CL traffic, so that is good that you have it DMR.
So it may depend on the ad copy that I'm putting on CL - or the autoresponse I'm sending to people? I'd imagine both are at risk...I make sure to work them as carefully as possible, but when posting ADs on CL you have to keep to a certain level of vague-ness in order to avoid having your ads ghosted and flagged and basically owned.
I would say that if it converts for the advertiser in the backend, you should be fine. But then again you are running it with MB, and they ban you at the drop of a hat. It's greyhat if it's good leads. It's BH if it doesn't convert at all for the advertiser, and you are prolly wasting your time if that is the case.
Thanks for the responses... What other networks would you reccomend, nab101? Hydra, neverblue??? I heard COPEAC isn't too greyhat friendly. The problem is, I'm not positive if it converts on the backend as you mentioned, shroom. I don't have data past the clicks and the actions...The audience is targeted though, so I don't see why the advertiser would not be happy.
If they ask (since it's DMR), tell them you use newspaper ads around the country. Talked to my AM and they don't mind newspaper ads. How are they to tell the diff if you're using double meta refresh?
