Is this true or not?

    I heard that it is possible to be exempt from paying both medicare and social security tax in the United States as an employer if the people that are working for you, are actually work for a foreign based company. I was watching something on Apple,and they said that their apple store workers actually work for a swiss company,and I think that is the reason they do that.

    the employees are the ones paying the taxes. the company pays them on their behalf and deducts it from their checks. as to how true that is, i don't know.

    I am pretty sure you are half right on this one, the employee pays but the employer also pays a share, I think it is a 1:1 match meaning if you paid $100 then I as the employer would also pay $100.

    As an employer it gets worse from there. Workmans compensation, state industrial insurance, 401k matches, Health Insurance, Other benefits. State Taxes and crazy requirements.

    It is a real pain even in an office environment. You should see the costs and headaches of something where someone could actually get hurt on the job like manufacturing or construction.

    If you wonder why your boss is always looking stressed and never has time to pat you on the back for a job well done, Cut him some slack.

    But if a foreign company may be exempt from social,insurance,comp,medicare etc.,wouldn't it be alot cheaper to have the workers work for that company,instead of the local company?
