Is this the Ultimate Local Link?

It's said that links from local organizations in your city are great for local rankings even if they don't have greatest metrics.

So would the ultimate local link be a city/city+state domain name? Ex. Denver .com/net/org or DenverCO . com/net/org since after all it's "THE" city your business is in. Even if it's a new domain or doesn't have the greatest metrics. I don't think you can get any more local than a link from a city domain like this. Any thoughts on this?

I'd suggest that the content of the site is far more important than the domain name... the domain name is utterly irrelevant, in my view.
 
So if you had a plumbing business and owned one of the domains in the example above... you'd want to post plumbing content on Denver . com/net/org. You think that would be a great link then?
 
Domain name isn't as important as you think. It's better to have a brandable domain name, it sounds more professional. The best links are from websites that have relevant content to your business no matter the state they reside.
 
You guys are overlooking my question which is purely a "LOCAL" question.
The business domain would be a brandable name. The article content would be related to the "trade" and location "city". Not to mention all other content related to the local market on site.
"Any state" wouldn't be local.

What I think he is saying is that any hyper local links are the best links. So if you show up on the local rotary club website with a linkback to yours it is gold. Same goes for your business licenses on the town website if possible. The local business association with a link to ou as a member would work well too in theory.
 
Exactly Sully. Like links from your local Chamber of Commerce are great even though they're not niche related. This link I'm talking about would be hyper local and hard to get for most of your competition(or over-looked).

Anybody can get niche related global links or PBN links but not these hyper local links. Which is why I would think they're just as good or better than a high metric PBN or niche link.
