Most of my searches now end up with first page of google filled with BIG brands sites subdomains.

For example in a non English search, related to Health, like "back pain" I always get:

    health.bigbrand1.com/Cure-for-back-pain
    health.bigbrand2.com/relieve-back-pain
    health.bigbrand3.com/exercises-for-back-pain
    and so on...

if I search for "how to loose weight" I always get:

    weightloss.bigbrand1.com/Loose-weight-fast
    weightloss.bigbrand2.com/Loose-weight-in-3-days
    weightloss.bigbrand3.com/exercises-to-loose-weight
    and so on...

Don't know how this goes for the English Language but happens in almost every term for other languages.

Those Big brands are almost News websites and cover all the other topics in subdomains, and because the main domain has thousands of backlinks from other authority sites is almost impossible to compete with them.

    How do we fight this?

I'm rather new so excuse me if i'm incorrect but from what I've gathered so far...

"how to lose weight" seems like quite a broad search term that would have a lot of competition. It may be more beneficial to target a more specific audience, "how to lose weight after 50" "how to lose weight after a baby" etc

Please correct me if I am wrong.

You are mostly right but in other languages there isn't same volume of searches for each term and long tail keywords tend to have very little to none volume of searches, so you either rank for the good keywords or it's not worth to rank at all imo.

There are always hidden gems, you need to work on your keyword research or ask a seller in the BST section to help you out.

Create a quality blog of you niche using a strong site like wordpress.com. By that you actually eliminate the big brand sites in your country. It goes without saying that you'll have to promote it but the starting point is much better if you need to fight against strong domains.

I'd recommend you better KW research for now.
