So this is happening on one of my clients' sites.

So basically double the number of normal people have started to type in the URL of my clients' site than before. Won't this disable AdSense since it would be considered low quality traffic? I need your help with resolving this lads. Here is another screenshot of the average time spent by such visitors.

I think this site so screwed if this doesn't stop. What are your thoughts on this?

It wont ban you easily. Google is aware that bots can sabotage a person so unless you have constant bot traffic they will not penalize you.

Do you have access to your client hosting? If it is hosted on VPS or dedicated machine you can log into ssh and check unusual IP activity and if it is some simple bot you can easily block it.

Alternatively you can (if you didnt already) add your client website to cloudflare and enable bot protection, when cloudflare detect suspicious IPs trying to enter your website it will show a captcha and thus will prevent malicious users from spamming your website!

It won't disable google ads. Why would it? Looks like bots traffic.
OK. But could it be some competitor trying to sabotage my client's website?

Yeah, have conveyed this solution to him. I was kind of scared about AdSense getting banned but thanks for your answer and kind words. Appreciate it.

direct traffic is not the issue but the average time is the main issue. This indicate that Users are not liking your content. This is one of the main reason which decides ranking.

Increased direct traffic and decreased engagement can be a concern, especially with regards to AdSense. By investigating your sources, improving user experience, and monitoring traffic quality, you can minimize potential risks and ensure your AdSense compliance.

I had a huge flow of spam traffic from Poland for a couple of days, and somehow it went away on its own. Have you checked the sources of this direct traffic?

I don't access to the hosting side of the site. Still, I have asked the client to check.
