My first experimental site to learn seo. Ive taken it from page 8 to page 2. A lot of secondary kw's on bottom of page 1 and 2.

I can get this site to page 1 for everything. However, I am getting $0.08 - $0.15 CPC revenue. The collected totals of all important targeted keywords will be around 6k searches per month.

Even if I get this site 1# for all kw's, am I looking at a fat income of $10 a month?

Yeah does not sound like much interest in that KW. Next time do that research before you create the site..

site was experimental so I am fine, it can be monetized other ways. I was just wondering what kind of CPC metrics are needed to achieve a decent income from ad units

You can say that your experiment got off to a positive start -- whatever large or small is the revenue. Now do something similar with better keywords and get more revenue. Build more similar sites once you get the hang of it. Good Luck! :)

    P.S.:

CPC metrics is a group of many important aspects of the whole CPC system. The following webpage gives you a more detailed aspect of the Metrics. See which of them needs your added focus:

If you're only using Adsense campaigns and not using the Adwords campaign (you're not a Google advertiser, but are only using some keywords to publish related ads), then obviously you have no control over most of those metrics.

congrats that your test went well.fewer ads for better CPS is the trick ,i learned.CTR will go down when there is too much going on on the page.So better keep it simple ans steady. And shuffling the ad positioning can make a huge difference in CPC.

Congrats for the SEO part. Now check your keywords for Adwords competition. If it's low then you can't expect much. Try targeting keywords with high Adwords competition, and CPC 1+.

Also, read about the ad placement to get more clicks on ads. 0.15$ per click is also good at start.

That is very good, especially for a first time practice.

Now put as much effort into finding the right niche and you're in business!

Try to monetize with something else besides Adsense.

Adsense is always my LAST result for monetizing a site when I cannot get anything else to convert.
