So I made a site on urban legends 6 months ago and I'm thinking if I should get back into it.

Any suggestions? You guys think I could potentially make some cash thru Adsense with this site, or is the niche just not right?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Well the site itself looks ok and the theme (not wordpress theme) of the site could attract regular visitors. I am not sure how you would go about marketing this sort of thing though. Perhaps you could start by submitting it to blog catalogue.

Its got a catchy name. lol. The site will be terrible for adsense for the reasons mentioned above. Adsense will be placing ads based on the content of the site and you'll get really crappy or bizarre ads. that doesn't mean you don't have a good idea though. I have a similar problem on a site devoted to celebrity news. I tried adsense on it but it is a site targeted to a 20 something to 30 something audience, but it gets ads for things like Hugh Downs reports on Artery Cleaning Secret and other geriatric type ads.

What I learned from this is that I need to select ads myself that are targeted toward the type of visitors I'm attracting. The reason adsense pays is because those ads are expecting to get a certain conversion amount from people clicking on them. What I plan to do on my own site and the best thing i would suggest to you is select yourself some affilliate ads that you think might convert and put them on your site instead of the adsense. some good general interest ads targetting the type of visitors you expect. things like dating sites, learn photography, learn hypnosis, etc. might do well on a site like yours.

Incorporate the aff ads into your site design in a similar fashion as would be done if they were adsense ads and then see what happens. one affilliate sale of a program that nets you $90 would be the same as getting a few hundred adsense clicks on a different site. I think your site is a good idea because the topic might draw a lot of traffic. It is the type of site that has the possibility of reaching front page on digg if you write a good enough article and get it submitted to digg. that could get you 10s of thousands of visitors and then even with a low click through rate on the ads, you could still rake in the dough. you might want to look at getting a more interesting theme layout, but the type of content has the possibilty of bringing in a lot of organic traffic new and repeat visitors. Even if you just put in a couple hours a month on it, I think it has some real potential for you.

    good luck with it.
