Is this safe for my website

Hi ,
so a week ago i launched a website with an emd for the main keyword , the keyword is low cometition and have around 20000 exact/months.
it ranked on first page yesterday , so i was wondering , if i change the title of the website can this affect my rankings ? i want to change it from 3 words to 2 words to target a bigger keyword with more search volume ( a lot more) .
so what do you advice me ? keep the title and try to write articles on the big keyword or change litteraly the website title to the big keyword

are you referring to changing your meta title? that could be risky , maybe other senior members can answer your question. As for targetting bigger KWs, why not make more posts and optimize them around the KW you are targetting?

I have personally not seen dramatic changes from altering the meta title. One thing to be wary of is you might see a slight drop or rise over the next week or 2 no matter what you do as your site finds it's rightful ranking. If you can I would hold off on doing any changes early on as doing this might cause you to see the changes you made as the reason your site is going up or down.

Hope that makes sense.
 
If you're already in the top position, why not leave the name to keep your position, and add more meat to your site?

i'm on the bottom of the first page , so not much traffic for such a keyword :)
