I'm looking to buy a new laptop that I will be using for both internet marketing, and college.

So far, the Dell Studio XPS 16 has caught my eye (great specs).

As far size and weight, the screen is 15.6" and the laptop itself weighs 6.4lbs.

I'm having a bit of a hard time visualizing this though.

For my needs, does this seem like something too big and heavy?

Yea I have a 17 inch laptop and it is very cumbersome. That weight and screen size should suit you well.

Asus u30jc all the way, it was a great purchase!
They even include a 2 year warranty, 1 year accidental damage warranty that nobody else offers

(not affiliated with them, just really happy about my purchase)

There is a great buy I seen on tigerdirect for a gateway earlier today. I was a mouse click away from buying it but I want more money for the tables during my vegas trip.

It's refurbished but you can still get an extended warranty on it. 399.00 and here is the specs...

It is a beast for the price and here is a direct link to it

If money not a problem, I suggest to swap HDD with SSD
Today's SSD random read and write performance are much faster than HDD

if you want to overpay for stoneage specs, look at macbooks :D

For when I travel, I got an ASUS 10.1 inch, 2GB netbook. It's like 2 lbs. Bought it for less than $350.

Thanks everyone; sorry I saw some of your posts a bit late.

I went ahead and bought the Dell Studio XPS 16. Lovin it so far ;)
