Is this correct way to get backlinks

I've worked on client sites that have massive amount of spam and redirect links that have zero effect on their SEO, so I wouldn't focus on that stuff. Focus on the high quality links and where to get them.

That's true. Even i was wondering how to address it. In my niche also few competitors are having these spammy back links (obviously paid links). My blog has some good content (though traffic is pretty low). But still i'm clueless on how to proceed? Should i use the same black hat strategy to get ranked or organic way?

Those redirected backlinka are doing nothing more than inflating the DR
