Google removed all the trash and site wide links you where having. Then the ones it kept follow through and it was enough to bump you up. Haven't you learn is all about quality not quantity. Haven't you play with Google farm pets?

That's where people fail at using tools like Senuke, they think is to build massive links when it should be used to build massive quality links. But that is for another post not this one.

I have noticed the same thing, I went and looked at my webmaster tool links and it was cut down by about 50%. It appears mainly links to the site that have been cut down rather than links to individual pages. Most blog comment website wide links have disappeared.

Backlinks still haven't returned traffic down by around 25%. I wonder if this is some new kind of Backlinking algorithm, its essentially killed all comment links even if their not at all spammy and unique, on high quality articles on respected sites. The other people have noticed this have you seen traffic fall and if so what have you done about it?

This is affecting a lot of people. The amount of misinformation in this thread is unbelievable. Just site tight, it's likely a bug, and wait to hear the official word from Google. There is no point wasting your time speculating.

There is much talk in the SEO community that Google has finally started using all the info they have gotten from the disavowed links tool to implement a new dynamic link removal system / penalty system. While before links credits were removed and penalties given whenever there was an update, some are claiming that the recent google fluctuation since the 17th is due to Google now constantly using disavow data to get rid of link networks and link spam. If so the current instability will continue for quite some time. It may also be bad news for SAPE customers... If a few "clients" have panicked an started disavowing links, Google will use the information to unravel the whole network.

I personally have no clue. My sites are completely white hat and there is no reason why any links should be disregarded or penalized - yet since the 17th it will have one day on page 1 for nearly all the important kw and the next it will be on page 15 and then back to page 1 again like a jojo with a bad sense of humor.
