    Hey,
Lets say you want to get a brand spanking new site moving fast. You have looked at using local citation services to get the site found and build authority. You have read (it may have been here) that it was advisable that if you want to avoid getting in trouble with G, simply do all the services type work and say in your robots.txt file for G not to crawl the site. Then after finishing whatever you want done (blackhat) then revert to white hat and then push to get the site listed.

Is that accurate or advisable? I can see both sides, but would appreciate the input for those that know much better than I.

    Thanks.

No I don't see that as being effective. First, Google still indexes homepages that use the robots.txt file to block them, I know b/c it's happening to me now. #2, as soon as you remove the Robots.txt, even if it wasn't indexed to begin with, any aggressive things you did will immediately hit the site. Further, if they see links and citations to a site that doesn't exist, they may just ignore them. Just do regular SEO, you're not going to "trick" Google.

As previously posted by Laubster, it is very true that using Robot.txt does not guarantee that your site will not be indexed. It is somewhere in one of Google's tos, or whatever. Getting through this could therefore be a challenge.

Tnx @Puppetmagic and @Laubster. There is one BHW member that offers a couple hundred citations to hundreds of these local citation sites. In your opinion if the site got a couple hundred citations or profiles built in a month or less, does that throw up a red flag to G

    CLARRIFICATION: one citation per site
