they say if you want different results, you have to do something different. i have never been able to rank a site, so i thought i do something different - use a little brain cells. during the past 2 weeks, i have spent a lot of time writing my own articles for a new site. i mean a lot. i searched and studied, and tried to understand the subject, and i wrote articles. After posting 3 articles, i realized that i already have a site that has ok articles (though not geared "keyward hiararchically") and i still couldnt do shit after 1 year. google webmaster shows my keywords from 40, down to 8. i think google is suspicious about my site. I had 300k links from tumblr and my site is dead in the water. this time around, i also write more organized, significantly longer articles, with images, and outbound links to others. I also have not put in adsense or any money links. i am almost turning whitehat! as i try to blackhat again with the new site, i realize i am repeating something that hasnt worked for me - i pin an article, and got 20 repins. then i realized something is wrong: how do i get social signals without any traffic? that doesnt make sense. so i go and buy small traffic. now this is what i think: i buy low-bounce-rate traffic, then get social signals and build backlinks at the same time. the traffic is slow - 100+ visits a day. if google sees that my bounce rate is good, and people like it (the social signal and backlinks), they push my site higher. am i heading the right direction? is this going to work? what's the right pace of building backlinks and social signals?
