what I'm going to do

1- using interspire and a host (Ineed your advice with this)
2-i'm going to send some freebies in the first 3-4 days relating to my niche
3- i've used a simple / converting landing page that I bought 'simple template with no opt in cauz i dont need new emails)
4- after i'll send a product of mine ( ebook that cost 4$ 5 maybe) ITS MIIIINE !!!
5- expect some bucks

so my questions
1- do you advice me using interspire with VPS or simple Host
2- would this be illegal to do ( PS/ i've sent an email to all the list telling them that i'm the owner of the forum so they dont have to worry :p :p)
3- what do you expect the conversion will be

this is an image for the landing page i'm using (and i'm not going to give link for it)

I'm not a heavy email marketer, but I have done several blasts in the past. I stopped doing them as they proved to be useless...recent studies show that only 20% of people actually open these emails. Despite what some people say, I find that email marketing is nearly dead.

for only 10k emails that have "opted in" from your forum, use a service like a weber, constant contact, etc. much easier, and in the long run less expensive. interspire is a great front end app, but it really takes a lot of work to get it right

Just watch where you send the mail from and what links you put in the E-mails. Chances are you are going to get some spam complaints, so be prepared to defend your right to send the mail. Since it's your forum, add a check box to permit E-mail communications or make it part of your terms of use. Even on the best opt-in lists, people forget they actually signed up and will send complaints using automated complaints from a service like spamcop.net or by directly contacting the hosts identified by reversing the domain's IPs.

If you are in the USA, you need to comply with the Can Spam Act. To do this you need to fully disclose your company name, physical address and a removal option to cover your butt. Otherwise some low life, and there are plenty of them out there, may try to sue you in small claims court and win a default judgement if you don't appear.

E-mail marketing is a clear example of how a government can get involved and really screw things up.

Inbox rate is the toughest job
Most of them go to spam

Agreed that Email Marketing is not dead, because there is nothing better than you hit direct to the inbox of your targeted customers. The list should be of targeted customers. The main strategy lies in the list and second thing is to send them properly.
