Well, when I run a Scrape box blast to a certain website, I collect as many URL's which have the web site I am blasting's keyword with in the URL.

For example if I where targeting "ps3 cheats" id harvest all of my blog URL's and every URL would have "ps3_cheats" in the URL.

Pointless practice? I kind of thought it made sense with the whole big g relevancy.

    Your thoughts?

For a ps3 site, I'd rather have 1000 random links from other ps3 sites than unrelated sites.

One of the best ways to rank is to get links from the sites that are already ranking in your niche, and your approach is somewhat similar.

However relevancy is somewhat over rated - if you can get good quality hard links from unrelated sites, you shouldn't ignore those either, especially if you can get good anchor text too.

Can't see why it should not work, only problem I think is that you might not get so many do-follow links as hoped, or even run into a lot of spam blocking things that you did not consider. But the one's you do get will be more targeted. So there is a good and bad.

Getting links from relative sites is good, but link diversity from different ip addresses is also good. So it might be good to get links from relative blogs, but I would also get links from non-related pages as well.
