I need and idea on how to do this? ---

My client has a Mr. X posting untrue slanderous things on Mr. Xâs website. My client has no control over this other website. Mr. X is using SEO so that when people Google my clientâs name, they get sent to this other guyâs website.
Is there a way to make it so when people search for my friendâs name, they donât go to the other website, but get redirected to a site we control?
Mr. X isn't posting my client's Social Security number. So we can't ask Google to remove the listings from the search results for legal reasons.
I know we can put up our own site, and push that up the rankings. We also want to do that. But how about people not finding the other guyâs site? If there is such a way, please describe the method.

Get redirected to a site you control? What does that mean? You want to hack his site you mean? Just get a website of yours outrank him for the keyword and mention your 'defense' against these accusations. That's pretty much everything I can think of that can be deemed legal. Otherwise, consult a lawyer to try and get something against him so you can get him deindexed / suspended from webhost. Though I doubt you could go that far.

A friend of mind dealt with this in his company not too long ago. (pissed off ex gf posting bullshit on web 2.0s) They went the lawyer route in addition to just pushing those listings down through business profiles, the major resume one escapes me at the moment. But I'd say grab the lawyer cause it's game time.
