just curious on you guy's thoughts. I can't seem to find answer on google
 
Define toxic.

If you mean, can one of those extensions be spammed & otherwise not worth it to use as a backlink? Absolutely. That can happen with nearly any backlink source.
 
Nothing toxic with that domain extension.
May turn toxic, only with spammy backlinks, that can be done to any domain!
 
Toxic backlinks come from low-quality or spammy websites, link farms, or sites involved in black hat techniques. Any link that comes from these kinds of domains will be toxic.
 
Backlinks are inherently beneficial, you have to asses the each likh and find its pro's considering the quality, relevance, trust factors & natural linking.
