I am considering a niche that is controversial. according to some lawyer, it's not illegal but "frowned upon"
it's kind of like how "pick up" is frowned upon by feminists.

I want to protect myself in case someone tries to take me down.

I know about offshore hosting companies that dont answer takedown requests.
what about domain registrars? is there such thing as a bullet proof domain registrar? I would imagine not, because they all have to comply with icann?

what about payments? how would I receive payments without my name being attached to it?

There's no 100% bullet proof registrar at least for /c/o/m/ domains as they all fall under ICANN's control. As for anonymous payment, you could use something like Bitcoin.
