Is there anyway to make subdomain imitate the search words on the fly?

    Hi guys..

I've seen this a couple of times.

    Just an example:
Let's say you search for "Britney spears pictures"

in the search results you get some sites like
    Code:
    britneyspearspictures.domain.com
Maybe the few times I saw this, these subdomains actually existed but I doubt it.

Anyone ever heard of this or know how it is done?

    Thanks.

yeah I've seen this many times.

In most cases it is wordpress that is using a subdomain as a category. There is a plugin that can do this. I used to use it years ago, I think it was called Subster Rejuvenation or something like that if I recall correctly but it stopped working with later versions of wordpress so haven't touched it since.

Doing a quick search looks like someone has redone a plugin for wp 2.6.

    See here:
    Code:
    http://blog.youontop.com/wordpress/wordpress-category-as-subdomain-plugin-41.html

I have not tried particular plugin so not sure if it works. Give it a shot.

P.S. Don't forget you need to enable a wildcard subdomains on the domain you want to use it for this to work.
    Good Luck!

The subdomain must have 'existed' in order to have been spidered, and later appear in the SERPS.

BUT, in order to 'exist' it only needs to have a spiderable link from another site, and a script to generate the subdomain content when hit with a click, easy enough to do if your hosting will support wildcard subdomains.

No site really 'exists' in any concrete sense, it's just piece of server software delivering a page, static or dynamic.

this is a feature which is called "wildcard" subdomains, some hosts offer this and it can be set-up on the hoster.

Basically (as i understand) it creates subdomains "on-the-fly", eg you could promote a product "hairlossremedy" and you have a domain, say, "myproducts.com"

if you would access "hairlossremedy.myproducts.com" this subdomain would be created virtually, even if it doesnt exist.

    So whateverkeyword.mydomain.com would result in a virtual website/domain whateverkeyword.mydomain.com

The mentioned plugin would make use of this feature.
